I know some don’t like to talk about it, but i’d be shocked if there isn’t a transfer after this season. I’m looking at our front court specifically, as there is a logjam of sorts there. I’m expecting it to be a 4 man class.

IU would take Carton and Newman. Carton is a point and Newman is a 2. They wouldn’t take Newman and Franklin.

I’m definitely not opposed to adding Newman. Seems like a guy Archie would thrive with. Athleticism, Defense, and 3 point shooting. Yes please

SIAP, but Rabjohns said if he had to pick starters today it would be: 1- Green 2- Langford 3- McRoberts 4- Smith 5- Morgan I think most of us agree that this is our best/most versatile lineup. I love the mesh of talent there and McRoberts is the perfect guy to plug in at the 3 because of his unselfishness. If Green and Smith make the jumps we expect them to and have been hearing about, we’ll be a scary good team. Is it November yet??

Same here. I like following football recruiting but I’m not nearly as invested because of this. I wish kids could just sign their LOI when they commit. It’s never made sense to me why there has to be signing periods, but I’m sure there’s a reason.

Like mdn said, this is all about NBA experience. Nothing about Memphis the school, city, area, etc. all these kids want to hear is “NBA”. Imagine being a high school kid and being recruited by a former star player (Penny) and a guy who can say he won championships with Lebron. That holds a TON of clout. I know I wouldn’t be upset if they started recruiting me. Just how it is these days.

I’m of the opposite opinion. I like De’ron as a person, but I don’t ever see him excelling here. Archie’s style of play from his big men (above the rim, athletic types) seems to be the exact opposite of Davis. His injury will only hamper his movement moving forward as well. Again, really like Davis, but I just don’t see it working out for him at IU.

Phinisee will get plenty of time either way imo
