Finally got to watch. Been on the road. That was a fun game. I know it’s Alabama AM but the defensive intensity was so refreshing. Hearing AH excited again makes me excited again.

I think whether or not he can actually guard an NBA wing is the reason for the draft projection. His size makes up for a lot in high school and college. But it will be interesting to see how he is used at the NBA level due to the athleticism. They may be projecting him more as a spot up shooter.

I think the main thing is missing the tournament provided the weakness of the bubble in this era of humongous conferences where teams are getting 15+ Q1 and Q1A games increases the pressure. Which, to me, is before you get into the “with IU resources” argument. Most years, .500 or a little better in B1G play with maybe one decent non-con win and no terrible losses should be enough to get in. The tournament is so diluted now, it really should be the floor at a place like IU. Anything more like a year comparable to the teams you mentioned would really just be icing. Just my two cents.

It’s also future earning potential. If you’re confident in your ability to play at that level I think there is some draw. KW isn’t making much more than he probably could have gotten from some blue blood, but wouldn’t have likely played himself into a better draft pick and still would need to prove himself somewhat. He is now a year ahead and closer to an absolutely monster deal when he hits free agency after what he has shown. I think you are right that top-20 or so may be the cutoff under this CBA.
