  1. He is better than Gunn and Leal so he would be an upgrade
  2. Not sure that anything happened other than it has been very obvious that while Gunn can use his athleticism to guard someone 1 v 1, when that same player is moving off the ball he loses them. While he can get out in a fast break on offense, he is the worst shooter on the team. he has moments that make some excited but they are few and far between. Maybe he gets there later in the year or in future years but he is not ready to contribute big to a winning team.
  3. Back to Queen - Queen could be a better version of Reneau, maybe a hybrid of TJD and Reneau and Woodsons system is ripe for players like that. Despite his high ranking, I don’t see him being a hot prospect for the pros no matter where he goes so he might as well come to IU where Woodson has proven his bigs will be the focus and get a ton of touches.
  4. Jay was coming off an all-American season and was the 33rd pick. Hard to say his stock would have been any higher had he stayed. In hindsight given he didn’t stick on the roster very long suggests he should have stayed another year to enjoy college and improve his game but all-American and early 2nd round pick isn’t bad
  5. I suppose anything is possible but that would be an incredibly poor decision. I’m not saying he won’t eventually make an NBA roster but he is nowhere near that right now and dropping out of school would put him in the g league or abroad more than likely making less than he is at IU
  6. Where would Mgbako go? Those early draft projections will go out the window if it already hasn’t. Unless he does a complete 180 he isn’t going pro this year. Similarly, Reneau isn’t going pro either. There is no place in the NBA for a plodding 6’9” player. TJD is twice as athletic and was an all-American and he was a late 2nd rounder. I’m not saying both will be here next year as players transfer etc but pro? No
  7. I’m glad he did but it has been obvious and suggested by so many.
  8. No problem. Mgbako was bought to play a starting role and be one of the best on the team and we play 3 bigs because of him and this expectation from the staff. This makes us slow and congested on offense and slow and clueless on defense. look at the Torvik ratings that you like to use, Trey is one of our best players. Is he perfect, no, he needs to be better as does everyone but he is at or near the top on the team in just about every offensive category. MM hasn’t been good at anything. Really, without trying to compare him to anyone other than himself, what has he done well? Cupps and Gunn are role players and on a good team don’t play much at all, unfortunately we need them. Cupps is 4 games in and Gunn is like 40 games in. Eye test and stats show Gunn couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn with his shooting. There is enough of a sample to say that. Jury is still out on Cupps.
  9. We have/had a scholarship open and need a guard/shooter so yeah, wouldn’t have been a bad flyer
  10. A player has to bring something to the table, scoring, defending, rebounding, assists… something. MM hasn’t really done any of those
  11. 99%, all but the last part. Him playing big minutes and playing poorly isn’t helping CMW nor MM - whether he sits the bench or plays, it’s not good for recruiting. winning is good for recruiting and we won’t win much playing 4 on 5
  12. CMW is going to have to bench Mgbako if he wants to have any chance to win games this season. he is a horrendous defender and his offense isn’t much better. People can say “give him time”, sure but give him time on the bench and improve in practice. he is currently our 9th or 10th best player and is killing us
  13. IU fans travel, that has never changed. Personally been to too many games where IU fans dwarf the competition 5/1 and we lose
  14. Can Reneau stay on the court? I imagine he will avg a foul every 3 mins
  15. Anyone have the stats regarding how often Uconn scores in the paint in comparison to IU? I imagine they also go inside more often than not with their two bigs. It will be interesting to see if Reneau and Ware can score and defend against good bigs. the only think I feel good about is if they get in foul trouble we have other bodies to spell them which hasn’t always been the case
  16. Not even sure what that could possibly mean. Just find it ironic that you of all people are here lecturing the forum on biases
  17. Forget Twitter, you are THE culprit of posting with biases here in this forum. I’ve read between your lines
  18. Our 3 point percentage might go down as we are less selective but I believe X, Trey, Cupps, Ware could all be 30-40% from 3 in volume
  19. If MSB could spell our guys for 5 mins a game then yes, but this is IU, I imagine we could find a player better than MSB, there were hundreds available.
  20. 100% this is year 3 and this team is loaded with 4 and 5 star players. There is no reason making a 68 field tournament should be a reach. I’m not confident we make it but that is more to do with team construction - if only the ncaa would allow us 13 scholarships like everyone else
  21. It is very mind boggling that in year 3 we have 3 serviceable guards on the entire team - not sure how that happens
  22. What on earth are you watching? Who do you think is quicker than Cupps on this team other than X?
  23. So he is saying things he doesn’t actually believe? That’s odd. I usually don’t say the opposite of what I mean
  24. It’s not like they made up his quote… he literally said that which is crazy stupid and they called him out for it. That’s on Woody for the dumb comment not the press for reporting it
