After giving no thought on the prediction of the upcoming game... If anyone is wondering where Western Illinois University is located...it is a little south of Moline. It is too early to get a handle on how this team will do. On Friday we may not learn a lot more about the team because the competition is really bad. Coach Cig and the team learned a lot yesterday. There's lots to fix. Penalties, long passes, 2nd half execution... I thought that the offensive line did a better than average job in the first half. They opened a few holes and protected the QB. The running backs stood out and there is evidence that they are deep. But the competition was not deep in spots. The play calling was conservative. Coaches did not want to show any special plays when they are not needed. The jury is still out...but Coach Cig is the real deal. And he was not happy in the 2nd half. He is going to be kicking some butts this week.

I do not blame the coach for going conservative. It's Indiana. A win. Well done...we all learn a lot.

The receivers will get some glue as the season progresses. I am heartened by the discipline of the team. Keep the pressure on. Get some scores here.

The IU offensive line is making decent holes. The RB is quick and making cuts after getting through into the secondary. I haven't seen but one FIU player actually getting through to chase a ball carrier on IU's side of the ball. Play calling has been really good after the first series.

Ohio State is losing to...Akron 0 to 3 with 10 minutes gone in the first. OSU corner flagged with Flagrant after knocking Akron's starting QB out of the game.

I'm practicing for the big game. Already broke the seal on some Ezra Brooks 99 (with a port wine cask for 6 months). 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. Has a cinnamon spice hotness and caramel/chocolate sweetness and oak...very nice taste. Has a floral or fruit hint going on. Requires more practicing. Goes for just over $35 here in western Ohio. It was the above unique port wine cask that got me. Having just visited Portugal last year and sampled all sorts of port there... And I do not like the prices of bourbon today. Being somewhat frugal on my purchases, I squeak if looking at a bottle over $50. But New Riff has some good stuff. My dad drank some KY Tavern, Old Crow, Jim Beam, Old Grandad...I still remember fondly my first shot.

Has Indiana released a full schedule with times and broadcast network/streaming? Last year there was a posting about Peacock for a year at a reduced price. Thought that I had seen a schedule with broadcast channels earlier. Anyone have a deal sighted? In Dayton OH, I have Metronet fibre and Hulu TV Live. Still have Peacock, presently for another two months then the subscription is up. Thanks. (Same question for FB.)

As a Happy Mug purchase followup: The Guatemala was the best of the three. But still looking for the best cup o Joe. Thinking of killing myself with Folgers with lake water. That or freeze dried like Taster's Choice and oatmilk from the shelf not the fridge. Wonder what Ouzo in this coffee would taste like...
