  1. Must have been an emotional belief, not based on facts. :)
  2. Keep your head in the sand. Last nights game was on Peacock. Not a big audience. Nobody saw the "fire Mike Woodson" chants and the empty seats. The next two home games, Maryland and Michigan are on CBS -- big audience. How is it going to look on national TV? Bad, just bad. That will do wonders for the "long term health" of the program. Don't act like we don't know what we are talking about. Most of us have been around the block a few times. Whether it was with sports teams, businesses, and just plain old life. Many of us have hired and fired people. We know "the process." There is an old saying -- Hire slow and Fire fast. IU should take note. It's beyond time.
  3. If he "cared" as you say, why wouldn't he do everything he could to get a competent coach in place? Instead he forces his unqualified buddy on us. Please, we may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.
  4. My old boss had a saying -- "Business would be great without customers." You get rid of the fans and there are no expectations.
  5. Dude, that is the very definition of Interim.
  6. No. All we need is a competent coach who knows what he is doing. Mix the new with the old traditions. Recruit the right players. Put them in a position to succeed -- sound offense/defense schemes. With the right guy, it's actually simple (not easy). Crean was almost the right guy, but had some gaps. Archie and Woodson, not so much. But there are plenty of guys out there that won't make us look like a laughingstock that we are this morning.
  7. Debbie Downer enters the chat. Not to bring the room down, but the math to 10 wins and the tournament bubble still works (regardless of the crap play we saw last night). The Penn State win allows us to lose IL. So we are now even. Have to will all remaining home games. However, Ohio state, Northwestern and Washington all look beatable on the road as well -- so there is still room for some trade offs. It is what it is. Now back to -- Fire Mike Woodson. :)
  8. There needs to be some self reflection. Along the lines of “we earned those boos.” The players need to hate to lose. They don’t and are directed by a mediocre coach who is in way over his head.
  9. No it is not. Not anywhere close. He's basically doing the fkg "true fan" bullchit from last year. He should have said, once we get this thing turned around we'll welcome all of those fans back that we disappointed.
  10. Exactly. When the fans care more than the players it's a problem. Players should be booing themselves and taking accountability for the turd they laid on the court.
  11. No tag backs. Nah, nah, nah, na.
  12. No. Just end the pain now. Letting this go on will end up being a real bad look nationally and effect future coaches, recruiting, etc.
  13. As I said 100 pages ago, and others are saying, the only way out is for him to announce his retirement effective end of season. Maybe they rally and go on a winning streak. But the fans will basically have what they want — the certainty that he’s gone and a new coach will be announced by April. Trying the interim thing just doesn’t work.
  14. tyme's a clown. He blocked me cause I laughed at him. :)
  15. Did you use the hottest mom strategy to pick the team? :)
  16. Yeah, I just don't see it. Things are way different now. And after having the structure of the NBA (drafts, contracts, salary cap) vs. college (NIL, revenue sharing, unlimited transfers) why would any sane person take a college job? It's un-workable long term.
  17. Well, he should save us all the trouble and just announce he'll be retiring at the end of the year to spend more time with the family. Guarantee it would make his life much easier as nobody will expect anything from him.
  18. Yeah, Fisch said he's having Ms. Moren on instead. Probably a better show.
  19. No NIL is still going to be a differentiator. Revenue sharing will come from the University agreements with the conference/Tv deals. Athletes will still have the right to go out and sign "endorsement deals" via NIL. So a dude is going to collect is revenue share and then his NIL money.
  20. Ok, but Fife hasn't died. :) Oh and Fire Mike Woodson.
  21. Is that why I have to buy several channels to watch a freaking game. :)
  22. Cig ain't Tom. He's wired different than most. At 63, he's still up before dawn and heads home after dark grinding it out. He's is the definition of the will to prepare to win.
  23. Technically, Dolson has zero control. These are supposed to be independent deals without University interference. If the Simons want to hire a kid to promote a mall, they can now do it. Of course, in the real world . . .
  24. Actually, the way NIL is supposed to work, they kind of do. They can pick the dudes or dudetts they want to sponsor.
  25. Yeah, and if he was smart he put a lot of that away while working for Izzo. You can then slow down and focus on your family and other things. Face it, college (and professional) coaching sucks, especially as an assistant. You're basically hired to get fired and a nomad every few years. :)
