One for me that always comes to mind was the Evansville team in 1989 taking down Oregon St in overtime. That Oregon St team had future NBA guard Gary Payton on it. UE had a really good team coached by Jim Crews with Scott Hafner, Reed Crafton, Brian Hill, Scott Schreffler, and I believe Uwe Blab’s brother. I know I give Kopp grief on here for missing open shots, but he does give effort and doesn’t coast. He even hit 2 big 3’s in the game. We just needed one or two more from him or Stewart. One thing I will give Kopp credit for is that he has a short memory. He can miss 5 in a row and won’t hesitate to shoot another shot to find his rhythm.
