Very good point that I hadn't considered. -

Writing on the wall? OR he was told he no longer is a candidate? Better compensation? -

Read a new name today, Sean May, has been at UNC the last 6 years as DOBO. "duties include scouting, on-campus recruiting, video services, team logistics and other behind-the-scenes duties." The Daily Hoosier Article -
No, Micah Potter went from OSU to Wisconsin. Still on scholly.

I thought the same thing. Other twitter guys now reporting it too though, including Shams Charania

Someone with more knowledge can correct me if I am wrong, I do think everyone gets one this year so those who were juniors will be juniors next year eligibility wise. I think. So Rob should still have two years left, I think.
-
Yes, the reason he isn't on here is because if he returns to IU he won't count against our scholly numbers. That only happens if he transfers to another school

If I am reading this correctly, counting Stewart and Duncomb we still have two to fill since we did not use all 13 last year. We were one short last year and now with Al leaving, it opens two spots up.
-
Regardless of decisions from the current players in the portal, don't we have two open slots anyway that we could fill without knowing anyone's final decision?
-
I could be wrong, usually am, but didn't they pass something recently that says you can hire an agent now and still return as long as it's before the deadline to withdraw? The more I type this, the more ridiculous it sounds

That is a fair way to look at it, I will follow your thinking on this too. Good call. -

Gotcha. My guess is the staff fill outs with one of Fife/Lewis and then possibly the guy from Texas. Would like for Roberts to stick around, but not just because he was here before. -

Is there a role he could fill without using one of the 3 assistant slots? Sort of like Elston's role a few years ago? -
I know we aren't supposed to like anything Purdue related, however, Painter's ability to redshirt guys that leads to development at the end of their career is something I have been jealous of.

One thing I have always wanted to see was more of a unit type of substitutions, more in line with what NBA teams do. Obviously roster construction will have something to say about that but having a group or groups of guys that are used to playing with one another has seemed like a good idea to me. I watch mainly Pacers games so using them as a reference here, but TJ McConnel does a great job running the second unit. He understands the guys he plays with and they all have a feel for one another. It doesn't have to be identical to how NBA teams do it but something along those lines has always interested me.

I could see a lot of NBA type offensive sets ran for jerome to get a catch and shoot 3. He could be a lights out guy with confidence and support from the staff to shoot it. Always felt like guys were afraid to shoot 3's in Archie's system.

Is Fife a realistic possibility? Or just wishful thinking at this point?
