It's never too early to fire a coach if things get bad enough. It wasn't too early for Woodson to fire Adam Howard 2 days after the first game. Employers in the real world don't wait months to fire people who are doing a lousy job. Of course, that's the real world and this is IU basketball. Probably worried about the optics of firing a coach right around Thanksgiving.

I don't doubt that these players want to compete and win at a high level. I'm just not convinced their coaches share in that desire. I had a job once where my coworkers and I wanted success more than our boss did. It was demoralizing, and the culture sucked. When you're down 30 in the second half to an unranked team and your 66-year old coach looks like he's asleep on the bench, it's time to move on. It's that simple.

Another prediction: the words "health reasons" will also be included to make it look amicable.

And just think, they pulled the plug on a coach after just 2 seasons because he was so bad...and then proceeded to overhaul their roster and do this to us. No chance we'd ever do that. Kenny Payne would have been given a third season here, maybe even a fourth. I'd pay money to hear conversations among our donors and administrators right now. They deserve every bit of this.

I hate playing high-volume three-point shooting teams. They could go 10/40 but that means a lot of long rebounds and we kind of suck at rebounding.

UNC hasn't been a real high-scoring team this year. I believe they've only gone over 70 once. They scored 53 yesterday and 63 the day before. We needed a bigger cushion early when they missed their first eight shots and we only managed five points.

Still don't understand why this game is at noon on a Monday. I've never understood the early season tournaments where they have the championship game starting the day and the consolation games following; just seems backwards.

I know we can't expect to have a Mackenzie Holmes on this team every year, but our bigs are just bad.
