  1. It just stinks that two of the coaches that seem like they're tailor-made for IU (Stevens and Bennett) and would almost certainly get IU back to truly elite, will probably never pan out.
  2. That would actually be an amazing fit for him.
  3. I hate when in a blowout the announcers do the whole "look at Coach, their down 30 but he's still coaching, still teaching."
  4. I have to apologize to ESPN for all my ranting about them sticking with the Xavier-Cincy game after ours had started. They clearly knew what was up.
  5. Hilarious, Calhoun keeps talking about "chipping" away at the lead.
  6. While not at the top of my list (Stevens obviously), having read that Archie has been an assistant in three different Power 5 conferences, I'm comfortable with him now. Let's get it done.
  7. We'll float between down 18 and 12 until about 3-4 minutes left in the game. At that point Crean will fake like he's all intense and I to it, and we'll go to a full court press 10 minutes too late. We'll cut it to 9 once and then foul our way to a 12-14 point loss, and Crean can act like the guys fought hard at the end.
  8. Awesome, Newkirk. Completely turn your head to the ball. JBJ's defense is rubbing off on him.
  9. More like, see you at the next home game.
  10. Agree. Green came in and was put in a terrible position on that shot clock violation and Crean immediately yanks him and rips into him. Jones comes in and throws a ridiculous pass, no D and misses a bad 3 and nothing.
  11. Sorry for flooding the thread, but now they just called a foul with 0.2 seconds. I hate ESPN.
  12. Now they're going to the monitor again with 8 seconds left because two guys fell down.
  13. Geez, now they're at the monitor looking at an out of bounds call. The game is over!!
  14. I hate when they stick with first game when it's clearly over. We'll probably have to watch Xavier foul at least two more times.
  15. Just looked it up, he was an assistant at OSU for two seasons. He's also coached at NC St, Arizona St and Arizona.
  16. That's what I thought. He's from Pa (granted Western Pa), went to NC St., was an assistant at Arizona. Not sure what ties he has to OSU other than coaching at Dayton in the same state now.
  17. Have I missed something? Why do we think Miller cares about OSU?
  18. The NBA is trying to make kids stay in college longer, not shorter. Players Association won't let them.
  19. I'm not calling Crean dirty, I think he's probably as clean as they get at a high major program, but there's no way he's not playing in the grey area too. Remember the last time the "fire Crean" noise was at it's height? What happened the next game? Thomas Bryant and Thon Maker were both sitting directly behind the bench. And by all accounts the visits were out of the blue. Coincidence?
  20. You never know, he might not be stopped, he could just be off. Heading into the MSU game I would have said "who on IU will stop Miles Bridges?" RoJo and McRoberts ended up locking him up.
  21. I think IU's record might be different right now if you had a healthy rotation of JBJ, RoJo, Green, OG, Hartman, Morgan, Davis and Bryant. I meant literally have nobody else dress for the game, just those eight guys. Maybe let CuJo dress to have just in case, but that's it. No Newkirk, no McRoberts (who I actually like, but we don't need more guys), no McSwain, etc. Crean just can't substitute, No reason your best players shouldn't average 30ish minutes a game.
  22. Definitely seems like a great resume to this point for someone so young. I tend to think you need a little more experience to run a program as major as IU, but I really like that he's getting head coaching experience at the NBDL level, that he's seems incredibly smart, and comes from the Butler tree. One thing I've said is that if we make a change I want Glass to get really creative. Do what he needs to do to get the best coach possible, no matter how outside the box it may be. Don't settle for a retread because you're afraid. So, this would certainly qualify. I'd need to read up more, maybe he'd be better suited for a lead assistant/coach in waiting under an older/experienced coach, I would definitely be open to him.
  23. He signed an extension last summer, as did Adams and Olidipo. He's not going anywhere , and while they still need a piece or two, they're not doing that bad considering the loss of Durant. They were 4th in the West going into the game they lost to the Clippers last night.
  24. We were, but we weren't. It was a forgone conclusion he was going to UCLA for weeks. I guess by "never in it" I meant where it was coming down to the end and we were still really in it.
  25. Agree, I doubt he would leave Kansas for IU, but IMO this is the kind of thinking Glass/the admin need. If/when IU moves on from Crean I wouldn't be upset with a Holtman type hire, he seems like he can really coach, but I hope it would be after some really creative and aggressive thinking. Make runs at Stevens, Donovan, Self and some other legit/top flight guys. Get creative and make them say no. You never know! If we still end up with a Holtman or Archie Miller, so be it I can still get behind and excited about that. But, I'd like to see aggressive, creative thinking first.
