  1. I'm not questioning you, I believe you were told that of course, but I still don't believe that happened. The Celtics can't prevent him from resigning and going to coach at a different level. As @pumpfake said, I believe they would still hold his NBA rights. Maybe that is what they were unwilling to give up? That I could believe, though that shouldn't stop Stevens from taking the IU job. If he ever came back to the NBA his team could just negotiate a 2nd round pick or something.
  2. Thats not something Ainge would say to him. Ainge and Wyc (the owner) don't operate that way, and they love and respect Stevens too much.
  3. I would be really surprised. I don’t think NBA teams typically do those kind of clauses like colleges do, because they have agreed upon rules that teams can't poach coaches from each other. I just don't believe that if Stevens really wanted the IU job that the Celtics could prevent it, and even if they could that they would prevent. I don’t believe that.
  4. That can't be accurate. Stevens could resign. Boston can't stop him from coaching in college, only for another NBA team.
  5. Just looked up Woodson's NBA playing career and have to admit that I didn't remember him being as good as he way. For some reason I just remembered a fairly nondescript career, but for about 7 years he averaged around 15-18ppg. That's impressive.
  6. I dont think you keep an assistant for one player, but Stewart would be great to keep and Hunter could be a good recruiter. I guess we'll see.
  7. I think Parker Stewart is an important player to retain. I know we didn't see him play this year, but in the proper NBA system and development, a Lander, Franklin, Stewart backcourt can compete right away.
  8. Alabama is 11-for-23 at the free throw line.
  9. I'm sure he doesn't care, just wondering what he was expecting. He had to have had an expectation.
  10. I'm not saying he should care. But he would still have an expectation on how he felt this would be received.
  11. I really wonder what reaction Dolson was expecting from both fans and media? Did he think the "IU guy" thing would win the day, or I wonder if he expected some mixed reactions at best and he would have to sell this.
  12. Matta won't be able to recruit or coach, even in practice, in his role.
  13. He kind of already is home. He's from Michigan, not Indiana.
  14. What doesn't make sense is why not just hire Fife? Fife doesn't need to learn from Woodson or be a "coach in waiting" for Woodson. Woodson doesn't have any college experience.
  15. To add to that, the Celtics are currently the 7th seed in the East, but are just 1 game out of the 4th seed (which is Charlotte and Ball is out the rest of the season), with their next 7 games at home. It will be key to get Tristian Thompson and Evan Fournier out of the Covid protocols soon, but the Celtics are in decent shape to solidify things. Not saying a title run or anything, but they'll be solidly in the playoffs.
  16. Agree. IMO Musselman, Beard or Oats can come in and recruit against the Big Ten from the day they arrive. Not saying they'd dominate, but they are on even footing. I know Moser is a Midwest guy and probably has connections, but this summer/fall if he's the IU coach and recruiting head-to-head against Izzo, Painter, Holtman, Howard, etc., where does he rank in those battles? Probably at the bottom.
  17. Even when Crean was here too. Both he and Archie would press after it was too late to cut a 14 point loss to an 8 point loss so we could clap at the end and feel good about it.
  18. That's why I said rational Celtics fans, not Celtics Twitter. But again, it's not going to end for Brad unless he leaves on his own. Wyc and Danny love him. He's not getting fired, at least not now or anytime soon.
  19. Most rational Celtics fans, knowing they're not winning a title this year want Robert Williams to get as much playing time as possible and know Drummond would have negatively impacted that. We're good not getting Drummond. He's an empty stat guy anyways.
  20. I've only watched Arkansas twice this year. This game and their first tournament game. In both games Musselman made an adjustment to begin applying pressure when his team needed a jolt and it wss clear they were more athletic. It's paid off both times. I don't know the last time I've seen that at IU?
  21. Would be surprising. Kind of goes against everything Dolson said in his press conference.
  22. I'm pretty sure he didn't. Can you imagine Stevens publicly criticizing his GM's moves?
