  1. Most rational Celtics fans, knowing they're not winning a title this year want Robert Williams to get as much playing time as possible and know Drummond would have negatively impacted that. We're good not getting Drummond. He's an empty stat guy anyways.
  2. I've only watched Arkansas twice this year. This game and their first tournament game. In both games Musselman made an adjustment to begin applying pressure when his team needed a jolt and it wss clear they were more athletic. It's paid off both times. I don't know the last time I've seen that at IU?
  3. Would be surprising. Kind of goes against everything Dolson said in his press conference.
  4. I'm pretty sure he didn't. Can you imagine Stevens publicly criticizing his GM's moves?
  5. Great way of putting it, and I'm 100% comfortable with that.
  6. Good example! I was a marketing major in college and we all had to take two mathematics courses (algebra and calculus) taught by a professor in the mathematics department. The professor knew we weren't mathematics majors and knew the class was really hard. Every single time we had a test the professor would literally leave the room for 15-20 minutes and go sit in his office. During that time we all worked together, shared our answers, etc. Was it cheating? Yes. Did the professor at minimum not care and at maximum even support it? Absolutely. Not a single person ever got in trouble. Should I have sat there and not participated with the rest of my classmates and failed the class, while they all passed?
  7. I'll give you an example. We've all heard how it's really difficult for IU to get grad transfers in, right? I don't know how accurate that is, but let's assume its accurate for discussions sake. Stay with me here. I wasn't the best student in high school. Mostly just lack of focus and caring. So when I was being recruited for basketball, some schools had to pass because of my GPA. The school I ended up going to had me hold off on applying to school until the coach mailed me an application. The application he sent me was stamped at the top with a special "Basketball Office" stamp so the admissions people would know i was a scholarship recruit that our coach wanted to be admitted. Not every player got that application. Obviously I didn't play at IU's level, but I'd consider that the Division 2 version of the gray area. So let's assume the IU grad transfer difficulty rumor is true. No IU basketball coach should ever have to worry about that if he wants a player.
  8. Am I jaded, or is it reality? Maryland and Kansas were out bidding each other a couple years ago over De Sousa (I think that's his name) who was a borderline starter, a recruit ranked in like the 80's or something. Not a 5*.
  9. Agree. What's the point of even fielding a team if all of your main competition is going to do everything they can to beat you, and no governing body even cares about the rules, while you toe the rulebook by the letter of the law? I agree, I dont want blatant cheating. But, IU should certainly be doing anything that Duke, UK, UNC, Villanova, Michigan State, etc, are all doing. The NCAA clearly does not care at all.
  10. In 2021 if you're running a program that wins at a consistently high level, I just assume you're either cheating (if we can even call it that anymore since the NCAA doesn't care and there are no consequences) or heavily in the gray area. And yes, that includes Villanova, UVA, MSU, etc.
  11. Right, but Dakich stayed on even after the season ended until Crean was hired. They need to do this so the program can continue to run for the players.
  12. I think it's pretty normal. Dakich stayed on to keep running things during the search for Crean, and I don't remember specifically but I'm pretty sure the same happened during the transition to Archie.
  13. "Wide of the mark" means it didn't happen. He's saying the same thing as Rabjohns, that the Matta report was inaccurate.
  14. I understand it was odd. But I've been through these things first hand, and with some of those exact people (obviously not Stevens), the weirdest thing in the world, even more weird than the comments themselves, would be if that was scripted.
  15. If he was reading off something then he prepared it himself.
  16. There was no teleprompter or script. You don't think the media would have reported, "we've done 1,000 of these pregame coaching media availabilities and never once have seen a teleprompter or a script, but tonight randomly there was a teleprompter that Stevens was reading off. That is very odd!"
  17. I'm almost 43 and was a diehard NBA fan even as a young kid. My parents used to get me the NBA Media Guide for Christmas every year as a young kid. I have no recollection of Mike Woodson as a player and I believe he was in the NBA until 1991?
  18. That doesn't exactly inspire me. Coaching in the NBA and college are different. Juwan Howard is working out because he oozed recruiting cache being a Fab 5 member and he took over a program on auto-pilot.
  19. He's trolling. Golding is the Abeliene Christian coach.
  20. I'm not advocating for Fife or Lewis. But in terms of Woodson, Lewis has 16 more years of college basketball coaching experience. It's actually 16-0.
  21. I'd be annoyed with both. I'd be annoyed with Fife or Lewis too, but at least those guys are college basketball coaches.
  22. At the end of the day, winning on the court is infinitely more important than winning the hiring sweepstakes or the press conference. But with that said, Woodson or Fife would be huge losses in terms of the hires themselves. It would mean Dolson either struck out on all of the proven, established hire major college coaches, or maybe worse that he didn't even try.
