IUBB vs MSU Game Thread 1/23 8:30 FS1
CrossboneIU22 replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just saw on Twitter that the water bottle thrower may have actually been a Michigan State Fan? Here's the tweet: I can't tell but this could just be a MSU fan with a Fake IU Student ID in the Student Section and not involved in the bottle throwing (based on the security's reaction to whatever he gave the security guard). But it begs the question, if the ref doesn't see who throws the bottle, can they really give a Tech to the home team if they don't know which team's fan threw something onto the court? So on the road, an IU fan needs to dress up in the other teams gear and bombard the floor with bottles while trying not to get caught by security to get us few extra points on the board. Correct? -
Wow, what a show by Zion in that stretch.

Just curious...... So this thing with Beilein....... leaving my personal opinions out of it (ok maybe not, its stupid and blown out of proportion in this day and age that anything can be offensive to anyone but......) should it somehow cause him to be fired and knowing a new AD is coming in, in this hypothetical situation and should Beilein be available, should IU go after him regardless of our current situation. He wanted the job before, would he want it now as he would need to land somewhere trying to save face (again hypothetically if he were to be fired). Great coach at Michigan, good to great recruiter. He's not going back to Michigan. thoughts....

I could be wrong but I thought Fisch mentioned Whop as if he was hoping for a big game from him, which leads me to believe its not him. However, Fisch did not make any mention of Ramsey the whole interview which seemed weird. The only other thing is that he did mention the he hoped for great things from our OC tonight in his last game with the Hoosiers and I can't imagine him being that positive on that front if the injury was to our QB? So I am a little conflicted on this as of now but it was really odd that he didn't even mention him at all!

Any one watching The Basketball Tournament? I really wish we had an all IU team in the Tourney. I'm sure Vic or Cody would help pony up the money to be a sponsor. if you were GM how would your team look? 2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

RE: Vonleh and TJD Discussion This is where I don't understand some peoples perception of what we should be or shouldn't be recruiting. Most everyone is saying TJD will be here multiple years and is not a OAD candidate but if TJD produces like many of you suggest or hope that he produces, I don't see him being here past 1 year. BUT, If he doesn't produce the way people are expecting or the way this team needs, then he will be labeled as a bust or a disappointment. This goes into my question a few months back, is our perceptions or expectations of recruiting flawed from the start. How can we conceivably suggest that we ONLY recruit 4 and 5 * players who theoretically are your 10, 11, 12, 13 players (if you have been doing this for multiple years, if there were no transfers, no early leaves) as freshmen. We don't expect players 10, 11, 12, 13 to be major impacts in general. However, if those 4* & 5* players don't make an impact in their 1st year, they are labeled as busts or transfer candidates. Not to mention how the player feels about the situation and become transfers. However, if we recruit lower rated players that may fit better or take more time to develop but better chance at staying with the program, the fan base complains that coach can't recruit. Also, if our top players are leaving early due to Transfers or Professional Careers, then how do we ever become an experienced group with players who are upperclassmen. There seems to be a major no win situation for high star recruits and coaches recruiting to our fan base. It is extremely difficult to have it both ways unless you have a history of being a GREAT coach and winning at a high level (AKA DUKE) or are doing something illegal (or both). -
