  1. Mechanics??? Are u kidding? Agree to disagree. Go watch last 5-10 games that season and look carefully at how we were defended.
  2. Not sure where to put this but this is comedy gold! @FunnyPicsDepot: Trying to defend 7'6 Tacko Fall like... http://t.co/Fg4h34FJfK
  3. I suppose you can say that but Coach makes ultimate decisions. If players aren't doing what you want and you, as the coach, continues playing them you are at fault. Other players lose respect for you as a coach because you are thought to be weak. Players may like you as a person for being nice, but to gain respect, you must hold your players fully accountable for your on and off the court expectations. Anything less is a coaching failure.
  4. Yogi was always a good shooter in HS. He did struggle his Freshman year for sure, but let him shoot his way out of it earlier in the season.... He was coached not to shoot and opposing D's sagged off him like crazy, packing the middle on Zeller and clogging Oladipo drives. In my estimation that was maybe the biggest general coaching blunder of that season. THAT is why we struggled late that season because Yogi stopped shooting the long ball and no one guarded him. Teams adjusted, we didn't.
  5. I sort of feel that way too but it's honestly Crimson colored glasses. We've looked Horrible in games and stretches, and if I was a rival fan I would not be intimidated at all. Just nervous we'd get hot from 3. That's it. We have a punchers chance but we don't have the superior team to too many. Teams are shooting 10-20 more FGs than us due to Off Rebounding and Turnovers and Crean is delusional. Did you hear him at the half the other night? Feigning confidence??? Maybe. Oblivious??? Maybe
  6. Coach has FULL control of that. If guys don't play the way you expect, show them the pine. I have coached many sports on many levels. The bench teaches lessons quickly.
  7. 100% love yogi! But ya gotta win, baby. I said the other day I blame Crean for not surrounding him with the pieces. His Freshman year, but Crean pulled the reins in on Yogi that year, didn't want him shooting.
  8. yep. I picked us at 10-3 prior to the season and we may get there still. The BIG is doable but we are a coin flip with Minnesota, Illinois, Nebraska, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, Michigan State. Problem is coaching wins those coin flip games. Does that boost your confidence?
  9. i hear ya. I fear even watching that Georgetown matchup and they aren't even a great team.
  10. Kansas beats Georgetown 75-70. We will have our hands full big time with Georgetown. And Butler.
  11. the rest of the BIG had a good night. Penn State in a battle with Duquesne. Maybe last year was an aberration for Nebraska. 1 great player, 1 really good one in Shields, and lots of average pieces otherwise.
  12. Even if Yogi doesn't leave our guards sans Stan are; Yogi, JB2, RoJo, Z. If we continue playing 3 guards as I'm sure we will, considering our anticipated roster, we need a 5th guard. As I've said before, Lyle has WING size at the college level. If his head is on straight, then he'd be a good addition.
  13. I agree about the potential off court issues. However, given our 2015 recruits I think we do need another guard IF Stan leaves. Plus, Lyle is 6'5" and can play the 1, 2, or 3.
  14. He would be Top 5 from day 1. Maybe top 3. BTW, O$U watched him yesterday. He's an upgrade on the court over Stan by a fairly large margin.
  15. i think we were fighting with guns that shoot flags out the barrels vs Louisville's cannons.
  16. Crazy ending but Michigan does go down to EMU!
  17. 22 left Michigan misses wide open 3. Emu foul shots upcoming
  18. Bluiett with 12 in another easy win. Abel similar numbers.
  19. Isaiah Whitehead finding his rhythm. 23 in a road loss to Wichita State.
  20. Michigan about to go down to EMU at home. Wow!!! EMU up 3 with 1:00 left
  21. I want Kelly too. Hopefully he's the surprise or one of them.
  22. look DEEPLY NCAA! Lots to find!
  23. Creighton downs Nebraska at Nebraska 65-55. The BIG followed the ACC challenge performance about as poorly as one could. Some really bad losses. We need to shock the CBB world and knock off UofL.
