    He could end up with a really good gig that opens after the initial spin of the carousel. Thinking like a Tulane or Memphis, maybe even back to JMU if Chesney gets plucked but might be too soon for him.

    Let’s get Haines on the Brent Venables plan. He was Dabo’s DC for like 10 years and was elite or close to it the entire time. He was making nearly $2mil a year when he left for OU.

    Learning this week that The Cuban Spigot (trademarking that) has turned on has completely changed my stance on the likelihood of us keeping Cig. I had previously felt pretty strongly that a program with more resources and built-in advantages could pry him away if that was something he was interested in. I’m no longer worried.

    Gameday will probably go to LSU the 25th, but there would be a ton of storylines to follow for both programs if they choose to come to IU/UCLA.

    Oregon folks, who are being pretty gracious in defeat (like they even have a choice after receiving gift after gift from The Stripes and still being largely dominated), have resorted to “this loss was needed. Now we don’t have to worry about going undefeated again. We can just play free.” Curt Cignetti has broken the will of another state research university.

    Only about 3 weeks until the rankings that matter-ish start dropping.

    I think the absolute floor is 3. I’m fairly certain it’ll be OSU, Miami, IU.

    Rankings don’t matter, but someone will have to make a pretty good case for why anyone should be above IU in that poll tomorrow other than Ohio State. *looking at you, Miami
