Looks like they have 16 on contract. In my opinion, it looks like he will be battling with Grieves Vasquez for the 3rd PG on the roster. The good news is: Yogi is cheaper and younger. Also, last year, Vasquez had a career low in FG%, games played, and games started. So maybe they will give Yogi a real chance. Bad news: they signed him to a one year deal for 4.5 million so I am guessing he will get the first shot at contributing. The way I see it: They keep Yogi on contract playing in the NBDL for most of the year but when injuries occur, he gets a shot here or there. -

Everyone has a back story and hopefully this helps people become a little more "human" when criticizing him. However, I can totally understand some of the calls he makes now that I know he has never played or coached basketball.

Perfect situation for Victor! He can play his natural position more with some point. Defend, slash, etc. Good for him.

Ya, I don't know why I felt the need to judge him from tweets but he is the type of person I would unfollow immediately.... if he wasn't so damn good at covering IU basketball. lol

Maybe Bozich is a great guy. But he tweets some of the most negative stuff ever from that high horse he rides around.

(2017) C Mohamed Bamba to Texas
HumphreyIN replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I don't know if they are considered "team reporters" or what, but it seems like the reporters are the ones recruiting these kids, lol. "Did you notice Coach Cal getting excited watching you play?" "It seems like you are their top priority." etc. Is that normal? -

I guess he is saying that people will buy more Nike IU apparel than Adidas IU apparel? I don't agree. All my golf and running shoes are adidas and I love my IU adidas stuff! -
2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU

UNLV has been in disarray the past 12 months. I'd be surprised if he ends up there. My feeling is he will be in candy stripes. -
Agreed. That's what I'm thinking as well.

Late 2016 signing/Grad Transfer
HumphreyIN replied to Hoosiers219's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I understand this more than IU fans trying to push Priller out the door. - One, he got a 4-year scholarship; it's what he signed up for and UM has fulfilled their commitment. - Two, he "retired" from basketball. The UM coaches had to recruit thinking he wasn't coming back. It would be pretty unfair to just pull the scholarship of a HS kid who has committed. - Lastly, it probably really sucks to coach against a player after devoting 4-years to coaching him. I generally think kids should be allowed to transfer anywhere they want. But graduate transfers shouldn't be allowed to transfer within conference in my opinion. Thoughts? -
IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
HumphreyIN replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm almost positive it's not even allowed. Maybe Hutch could comment but I don't think you can keep a player on and take away his scholarship. I thought I remembered that from when people were suggesting that Cody might pay his own way his Sophomore year to keep the scholarship numbers right. I think rule tries to limit the possibility of alumni donating money to families, etc. -

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
HumphreyIN replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I laugh at the people who think Priller should just willingly give up his scholarship because he isn't going to be a professional basketball player. If he wants to transfer away to a small school, NAII, D3, D2, then great for him. If the IU staff thinks he is a positive impact to the program and wants to honor their scholarship, great for him being able to stay. If he wants to stay around and be a student at IU, great as well. But Priller, like most of us, plays basketball because he loves it. I love that not all of our players are trying to make a career out of basketball though. He must love practice. He must love the camaraderie. He must love IU basketball. I, for one, am hopeful he stays. -
Making 2.6 million right now. Such a stupid mistake leaving school!!!! lol
-
LOL, what? I think its working out pretty well for Vonleh. He is about to get a pretty decent second contract.

Feelings from fans then and now (2002 vs 2016 Sweet Sixteen)
HumphreyIN replied to southsidehoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The UK game has changed my confidence level in IU. Not because of who they beat, but HOW THEY BEAT THEM. That was the first game I can remember where things weren't going well and we grinded out a victory. Loved our resiliency. If IU can win this game, I think we make the national title game.
