Iowa gave up 56 in the first half. The BIG has been embarrassing in this tournament 56-46 Oregon at half
-
Pretty sure that same clown has been on here recently.
-
Would be a surprise given his ties to Louisville. But hey he could bring the Davis brothers from Warren Central and Matt Cross with him!
-
Haha it is rumored that Mr. Glass did not do that...
-
This would make sense. Dolson's press conference stated he would talk to those around the state and get their opinions, which I assumed meant AAU/top high school coaches.

Candidate Thread: Chris Beard (Texas Tech)

I just don't see it happening that fast. I guess Beard already being in Indy helps but I would think that it would be at least a week before he was named head coach since his team just played. -
yeah that is tough. I do think he will land on his feet and get a job somewhere for sure. Could be a good thing for him to take some time off though, never know
-
Who said he didn't like Ostrom? Just because he didn't stay on as part of the transition staff? unless I missed something, pretty sure that had more to do with Ostrom's loyalty to Archie, as they had been together for a decade.
-
Another point towards Beilein is that three players on the team currently were sought after by JB when he was at Michigan. Jerome, Race, and Lander. Would be interesting to see if he could completely change the way they play since he had a vision for them when he recruited them.
-
Bump. I posted in another thread that JB would be a coach that would make Lander happy (grew up a michigan fan). Could be something, could be nothin. JB has been a polarizing candidate for a lot due to his age. Would be interesting to see how Dolson handles that if he is the guy I know @IU - Kaulie has been holding down the fort here
-
Lander was most definitely a Michigan fan growing up. It was always thought that he would go to Michigan if not IU. Beilein was the coach of those Michigan teams that Lander watched growing up. just sayin
-
I would say probably not but just my opinion. He has taken over programs that were wildly successful before he got there and has kept them relevant, but doesn't have a resume that a Thad Matta or even a John Beilein has. Not that I want those guys, but I would say he is more on par with those types of hires rather than a HOME RUN (Stevens, Beard, Bennet).

Let’s find out just how Texas Chris beard is. Call him up! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
That has been asked before and is a fair question. Not sure anyone knows, but Thad is a competitor and IU is a chance for him to win at the highest level. Could be hard to pass up Plus I think Archie would have 100% taken the OSU job after Thad was let go Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Thad isn’t Goodman’s best friend Archie. Who he said was a great hire at the time and really wasn’t. Thad also has a great resume and Goodman wants Indiana to fail due to firing Archie. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Lol thank you for the response then [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

That’s a step up from Woodson at least. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

His buyout isn’t much. 2.5 million. His offense isn’t Alabamaesque but he has made the tournament in 4/6 years (1 year didn’t go because of Covid) and has never had a first round exit. This includes his 1 year at Arkansas Little Rock when he upset Purdue in the first round. I understand the concern about it, but it’s good enough to win the big 12 and make the national championship game. Plus have another elite 8 appearance. He was literally 12 seconds away from winning it all against Virginia until Deandre Hunter hit a corner three for Virginia to send it to overtime. He checks all of the boxes IMO. The knight connection is an added bonus and might help sway a decision for him to make a move. But yeah, the MAJOR factor is his connections and ties to Texas. It’s certainly a long shot, but I did have a dream Tuesday night that he would be our coach so who knows! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

My thoughts exactly. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
He has quite a few 13-14 loss seasons with mediocre conference records. Not really a huge upgrade IMO Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

If we get one of those, I’ll be fine. Each has their flaws but so does every coach. C’mon Scott, there is still a lot of opportunity to get this done. Go Hoosiers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

That’s only for schools in the state of Texas. His buyout for schools outside the state is like 2.5million or something close to that Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

This was my top choice (before I thought Brad was an option). So I will be camped out here. But beware, I thought Archie was a good hire so I know nothing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

That’s rude. Why inadvertently insult Paul mills like that? That’s a jackass move Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
