Seeing what he has done this year has honestly moved him equal to Stevens for me. I give a slight nod to Stevens mainly to shut up anyone saying no chance. If in our pursuit of him I hope we can not make May feel like a backup

You mean like doctors, lawyers and incredible talented energy traders or do you mean in basketball?

To me it sounds like we likely have a verbal agreement and this 2 weeks is to review the contract for other terms that perhaps have not yet been discussed but are not the big ones. I am not sure why else Scott would hint at basically one candidate unless in his mind there are multiple logical non college options. I would not discuss or suggest much unless "Scott got his man" and they are just negotiating small things.

Did the call with AAU coaches allude to BS or were these 2 separate things?

Fair but if busy schedules made tonight really the only night to meet AND if he would then have 3 years coaching his son, don't you think that little fact might not be that big a deal? Not saying he went or he did not but it is curious for sure.

I forgot to look back at our conversation but that was on 3/23 as well. Plus, as we all know, Scott wanted a zoom call, but Woody said Mike Woodson doesn't come to you... so unless Scott jumped in a plane that day then it would have been shortly after the Masshole comment on the 19th that they started talking. Found this Pat Forde article when looking for dates. I don't remember if from before, but this comment does support the idea that Buckner was pretty forceful in the selection. Looks like we fired Archie on Mar 15. Brad Stevens says he is a "masshole" on Mar 19. We hire Woody on Mar 28. So that may support your theory but I just looked back at a text with a friend of mine who is Woody's relative. This relative was prominantly sitting behind the bench often, so often i would usually give him a hard time about what he wore lol. That text was on Mar 23 and I asked if Woody was coming to IU. He said he thought it was a done deal but some surprise "deal" with Matta came up and everyone is upset. So, from 3/19 to 3/23 seems to be the window here even though the deal was finalized on 3/28.

He still needs to listen to the scout. We have been better since Illinois but too deep of a hole and better does not equal good as we should be. Credit though to the team and coaches for a big win on the road against a strong team. I kind of wish i would have been interested enough to watch it
