I didn't press the panic button after the UW and Minny games even though I was unhappy with a number of things from both.  However, I am aware of its location and will not be afraid to use it if we lose Tuesday night.     In my opinion:   If we consider ourselves real contenders for the B1G title, we have to win this game.    If we want to set ourselves up for a nice seed in March, we have to win this game.    I realize we could lose this one and then win out and both of those would happen, but you know what I mean.  In reality a game on the road against a middle of the pack team is one you have to get for those things to happen.  Unfortunately, we are 0-1 already in these type of games this year (Wisconsin).  We can't afford to drop another.     Heading into this February stretch I am both hopeful and cautious.  If I am honest, a loss tomorrow night pushes the scales toward the cautious bordering on pessimistic side.  A win no matter the margin or to be quite honest the perceived quality of our play given we are playing a decent opponent on the road, and I'm happy Wednesday morning.  

One time in Assembly Hall against Minnesota (1989 season I believe), RMK locked the team out of the locker room at halftime for the way they were playing. Joe Hilllman huddled the team at mid court and took charge. I'd love to know what was said in that huddle.

For me I think of all the hours my dad and I have spent driving Hwy 37 to and from games. We have solved all of the world's problems and a few of our basketball team's many times over on those trips. It was special making the trip with him again this season since he had to sit last year's out while undergoing chemo. My bucket list would be for IU to win it all again and to attend every game along the tourney run.

I kept waiting for you to post in the game thread so I could ask you if you were checking in on the Rolex 24 during timeouts.

I agree it has been better since B1G play started, but yesterday showed it is still a reason for concern. I have been very vocal in praising the improved defense however, the real test of the improvement is about to begin. I feel equal parts hopeful and cautious all at the same time.

February will tell the story of this team and this season. I am not particularly worried about the offense, except the proclivity for turnovers. What scares me is the defensive side off the ball. If we play defense like we did yesterday, February will be a LONG month and March will be a short one. Defense is going to be the big question staring us in the face every single game.
