  1. Josh Helmholdt ‏@JoshHelmholdt24m Prospects can sign one mid-year enrollee forms/conference so Booth's singing does not necessarily=#IUFB commitment http://bit.ly/1k5xp6x   Retweeted by Dominique Booth
  2. Dominique Booth ‏@D1Bound72127m I have not committed, the financial papers signed simply officially guaranteed if I choose Indiana it is my spot to have in January
  3. That's what we want to hear, cancel your other officials and visit IU!
  4. It wouldn't be what I would probably do. If you are going to fire him, do it and be done with it. As far as how a recruit would take it, that would be different with each one. As far as regressing, exactly where would we regress to? We were the worst ever defense in the B1G.
  5. Re-read his post. He is saying that the very reason that CKW is out recruiting with Doug Mallory is because he won't. I don't know if that's the reason or not, but there is a certain logic to what he says. Particularly if Doug knows the score. is leaving on good terms, and they are "handing off" the recruits.   On the other hand, this may be Doug staying, and CKW taking a bigger interest in defensive recruiting to try to help out.
  6. All the words that would let me describe how I feel about what you did there, the filter won't let me use.
  7.   Which is what would make a decision not to make any changes at DC all that more confusing.
  8. Exactly. So taking what has developed into one of the top offenses in the country and calling for the head coaches job because of offensive inconsistency doesn't make a lot of sense. And the idea that coaches have 3 years to turn a program around, particularly a perennial doormat like IU, doesn't stop the sucking. There are a very small handful of coaches who seem to have what it takes to do that. You might be right in the end, and CKW is not the right man for the job. But with all its problems, we are seeing year to year improvement (with the exception of the defense), so I would say its a bit early to make that call. Truthfully, CKW might be the right man for the job, but if he doesn't change DC's he probably going to have a hard time getting the W's to back it up.
  9. I think that you will find as you get older that teams, even extremely talented teams, have lapses, bad games, bad judgement, etc. Sometimes I feel if we had this board and were watching the '76 Hoosiers, you would be crying and complaining all season long and calling for players to be benched, encouraged to transfer or just kicked off the team. 32-0 is a perfect record, but the team was not perfect. There is no dumber group of people than teenagers, and that is what our football and basketball teams mostly are. They just flat out screw up, a lot.
  10. I agree with this. I thought that there was a clear effort to slow down the offense to take some pressure off the defense. It didn't work. The defense still gave up a lot of yardage and a lot of points. And you are right, it actually threw the offense off and lowered offensive productivity.
  11. Well, that doesn't help my point. Although I will ask this question. Is Mallory a quality assistant as a position coach? Or was it simply a mistake to make him a DC? However, I would say that CKW has brought some excellent assistants to IU, despite Mallory.
  12. Well Charlie, maybe you need to back that up with some facts as to why Wilson should go. My reasons he should stay would be that he is a offensive genius, he attracts high quality assistants, and he is attracting a higher level of recruit then any coach since Bill Mallory. Another reason would be, until its obvious that CKW is not the man for the job, jumping back on that 3 year coaching carousel would be another step backwards. On the downside, CKW is a offensive coordinator that is learning to be a head coach. Whether that will be a successful transition, still a bit hard to tell, but I see no reason to jump in and change head coaches again. So if you have any solid reasons for his dismissal, throw them out there.
  13. I have a hard time believing that there will not be some changes on the defensive side. It just to glaringly obvious that something is wrong there. How big those changes will be is to be seen. I just don't see it as a good sign that the coaches are all out on the recruiting trail. There might be a grand plan that we are not privy too, but I can't believe you would send all the coaches and coordinators out on the recruiting trail for two weeks and then come back and hand out pink slips. And I can only imagine what would go through recruits minds if that went on.
  14. Lol, we'll see. After the ice this morning, and the 4 inches of snow on the ground now (and more coming down), I wouldn't be surprised if there is some rescheduling. I'm a bit south of there though, so it might not be that bad in B-town.
  15. Alright, that means he's a football player and he wants to be on the field. It would be nicer if he wanted to come here because we have a great football program and he wanted the yearly challenge of being a national championship contender. But its kind of hard to sell that. Now a chance for early playing time? That's a card the staff can play.
  16. Maybe, maybe not. Like I said, you never know how many of those offers are still open. Odds are that some of those spots are filled, some of them were non-committable offers that showed interest, but he wasn't that staff's top priority. Recruiting is a world where everything isn't all that cut and dried. He's listening to us at this point, even though he is committed to a very good football program, and the staff wouldn't be wasting time with him at this point if they didn't feel there was a decent chance. Will it change anything? Don't know. But if you don't plant the seeds, hoe the weeds and water the plants, you are not going to harvest much.
  17. He's showing offers from LSU, Pitt, Nebraska, WVa, Cincy, South Florida, Western Kentucky as well as from UofL where he is committed. Hard to tell at this point which offers are still good. Also has Oregon, Miami(FL) and Alabama interest.
  18. Keep him happy Coach. This is the one offensive guy that I think might be a underrated recruit.
  19. Top talent, so you keep going after it. Also, if Latimer has made a decision on going pro, there may be a extra spot open. IU seems to be targeting several highly sought after receivers at this point, so we have at least one spot available. Wouldn't be surprised if they could get commitments out of Baker and Booth they would take both.
  20. Well, I don't "Like" that. I just suspect you're right.
  21. A little early to tell, but having dinner with CKW and Coach Johns last night surely can't hurt any.
  22. Hate to say I told you so (and I hadn't seen or heard anything in a long time as to Booth) but I told a few of you 5 or 6 months ago not to count this one out. Reel him in!
  23. Game over. Mt. Carmel wins, Tyra with 50.
  24. Well, if we have continued improvement next year, in late November we'll still be looking forward to another game!
  25. Believe it or not, IU won the TOP by around 7:30, so I don't want to hear squat about how our D was too tired to stop Purdue.
