  1. Small sample yesterday, but I didn't see the same level of afterburner that Tevin had. No complaints though, he's going to do some serious running for us.
  2. Green was arrested involving a drinking incident which involved a assault, not sure what he was ultimately charged with. Griffith had a DUI I believe. Allen, half the felonies in the book.
  3. Well, in fairness, we don't tend to hear much from the other sports, but I suspect that it has to be pretty horrendous for anybody to take notice of a Womens Field Hockey player getting suspended for the same things. I also doubt that its really any worse than it ever was, just more public.    No, they don't need babysitters. They are legally adults, and they need to learn to make good decisions, and take responsibility for the consequences. This is part of the process. There is a lot of scrutiny at the moment (and that's easy to understand) but to some extant that's making it look worse than it is. And I'm not suggesting that its not bad, just that added scrutiny brings to light more details making it look worse.    I don't know why these 9 were suspended, there are no details on that. Green and Griffith's suspensions are more than likely due to their off season arrests, but I have no details on the others. They could be suspensions for transgressions such as cutting classes, missing workouts, etc. Or they could be for much more serious violations. We'll probably never know, but I wouldn't let my mind run too wild with the idea that these were all legal issues.    In the end, you make rules, establish penalties, and discipline as needed under those rules. The players ultimately make their own decisions. Its not much different than as your own kids become teenagers, at some point, no matter how you raised them, they are going to make their own decisions, and their not always going to be in line with how Mom and Dad raised them.
  4. CKW was asked the same question in the post game presser. IIRC, he basically said he couldn't see not scoring if you had the opportunity. However, the way he said it, left me with the impression that it wasn't exactly a clear cut decision for him. On the other hand, we try to run clock, and either turn the ball over, or Suds ends up getting sacked for a longer FG try, and we'd be second guessing the decision anyway.
  5. When asked the question after the game, CKW didn't really specify, but as it has been pointed out, Green and Griffith are undoubtedly because of their off-season arrests. CKW meandered around such topics as drinking, cutting classes, missing workouts, etc. So you can probably fit the rest of them somewhere in that.
  6. I am absolutely positive you are correct.
  7. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/boxscore?id=24028   The box score, but it ain't pretty.
  8. Mitchell Paige?
  9. Guy hasn't played in two years, wouldn't be surprised if he took a bit longer to get up to speed.
  10. Exactly.  Don't exactly feel on top of the world about this win, but I've seen these scenarios before and they always seemed to end in the L column. This time they actually pulled it out, some of it was just luck. If they don't fix some things though, that L column is going to be well stocked.
  11. I'm wondering whether Charlie Strong will survive long as Longhorns coach.
  12. And 500 yards of offense to one player.
  13. I'm not sure, but at this point Booth may be well behind other receivers.
  14. Knee brace and street clothes. One poster said he overheard him tell someone he should be good to go for Western KY.
  15. There are some teams that are likely to be very good teams by the end of the year that flat out sucked in their openers. The changes and improvements that are made for the next game probably tell the tale better. If we look like that next week, probably not.
  16. On the good side, I kudo's to Ricky Jones, Redding and Howard and Oakes. Excellent job by them.
  17. I've seen us lose to many like that. Usually the D just blows the plays they need to make. We actually made a few critical plays today. It wasn't pretty, but it is in the W column.
  18. No D in the first, just barely enough in the second. An IU win, by a whisker.
  19. 41 jinxed us.
  20. Get outta my head Natty!
  21. Zander improved quite a bit as the year went on, and I hope he has a redshirt year to improve further.
  22. Nice special teams work there.
