What I saw of the game it looked like he was calling the defense for Green Bay... Seriously though, he wasn't bad at all as a defensive assistant for LSU so he may be alright in Atlanta as linebackers coach. It's when he was a DC that he was unspeakably awful.

I get that concern, but there would be some questions with any hire. Personally, I think I'd go for Holtmann before Nored but I'd have to look more into Nored; for me though as long as it's not Crean's Rucker-Park-street-ball offense it's a step in the right direction.

He grew up idolizing IU and Bob Knight, that would have to pull at him some. I can see where they're coming from though, it'd be hard to walk away from one of the most historic franchises in the NBA even for one of the top programs in college hoops history that you idolized. You have to try though and you have to have the mindset that you're going to get your guy. If you have the mindset that he won't leave there, you mat as well not even try.

Would he even listen to said assistant though? He likes to have assistants that used to be head coaches, but there's probably a reason they're not head coaches any longer.

This is where I am. I'd be thrilled with Holtmann, just not as option 1. My first call would be to Stevens with a godfather type offer, he is an absolute perfect fit. Don't go in with the mindset there's no way he'd take the job, go in with the mindset that we're going to get our guy.

You know that wouldn't happen. Crean was given an absurd buyout before doing anything, if he somehow had players that could carry him to a national title he'd probably get a 20 year contract with a 50 mil buyout. I do well enough to watch Tom Crean's "offense" for one game (sometimes can't even watch a full game), it'd be pure hell knowing we'd be stuck with this crap for another 20 years.

Yep. Also big on saying this or that coach should be fired because their team lost a game ignoring that the reasons people want Crean fired go beyond that. There's a thread started by him with a list of coaches that should be fired because their team has losses, a list that includes Izzo. Nevermind that Izzo makes tourney runs about as often as Crean makes a decision that makes no sense or stupid substitution.

Not really no, and HTD is a big part of why. HTD once posted that they thought Crean was a better coach than Stevens....not word yet on the results of the drug test.

If we don't beat Rutgers, Crean should be fired on the spot before anyone even has a chance to leave the gym.
