There'd be a 'Fire Mark Turgeon' thread up before the ink was dry on the contract. Considering IU's insistence on keeping coaches too long that thread would for sure hit a record number of pages.
Turgeon hasn't been a coach since December of 2021. If IU hired him they should just shutter the program and focus on football, it would just confirm that they are truly deeply unserious about this program coming back.
I check in to see posts about......*checks notes*......Mark Turgeon??
That was not on my BTB bingo card for today.
We can't last a month like this, already have posters losing their minds.
I would hope we aren't crazy enough to pay a $16 million buyout for Mick Cronin, he's not worth that plus the contract he'd get.
I say that knowing we hired Mike Woodson so the bar is set pretty low.
I'd be okay with May. Not particularly enthused but I can see a possibility, after this year I see the possibility easier than I did with Miller.
Take away the coach in waiting for his son and I'd gladly take a run at Pearl and stabilize the program for about a decade.
The fans aren't the problem, too many bad coaching hires is. If the fans were the problem then UK would be a raging dumpster fire, those fans would've rioted after hiring Woodson and burned the campus to the ground after year 4 was announced.
Cronin isn't the worst option, but with his buyout I have no interest. If we paid that buyout for someone like Cronin then we have decision makers that need therapy (if not a padded cell).
