Yup...Oregon football and basketball are likely bribing players too! :)
-
And the wealthy woman in the park that has her purse stolen is "mostly at fault" because she won't willingly share her money with the guy that robs her? If anything, the NBA is in some degree at fault for the one and done rule. BUT, the rules are clear, and the schools and players/families know what they are. A player doesn't want to play NCAA basketball (which, by the way, provides free tuition, room and board, books, meals, and more @$$ than a toilet seat)? Do what Brandon Jennings did and go play out of country for full pay immediately.

Without Question! Those who not NBA-bound, and therefore are not worth bribing Those who are truly ethical Those who come from real means (aka the families with medical doctor parents and the like) The Jordy Hulls of the world Cody Zeller Yogi Ferrell, James Blackmon Jr. Now, Thomas Bryant and Noah Vonleh?...I can only hope that we're okay, but Dakich wondering about them is completely appropriate.

1000%.

There's a ton of evidentiary information that we don't know about yet.
-
The investigation? Sure. The quality of evidence to rival what's already been produced? Doubtful.
-
YOU GUYS NEED TO READ THIS STORY! Trust me - this article will completely educate you about the coming events. It will also highlight in vivid detail the quality of evidence that the FBI can acquire through the use of the far, far and away most effective investigative tool; THE RECORDER! The next time I hear someone state that all ya need to do is "follow the money", I am referring them to this article's description of the incontrovertible relative weight of evidence that can be obtained with a recorder; far more so than through interviewing liars and reading documents. If you read only one article this week to try to understand how to get the evidence needed to prove a matter, this one is a good place to start.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Meyer just responded to a tweeter about the flip to Kansas with "I had Louisville as my pick. Thinking Indiana or Kansas." So that doesn't sound all that bad, eh? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

You need to hand out with Hoosier Guy. He'll boost that confidence! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
He's lying again. He's puffing. He's papering his defense without EVER daring to address the substance of the allegations. He will never mention Gatto or Bowen by name. Everything he will release has been prepared by his law firm, not him. He won't be suing anyone. Period. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Rick Pitino's attorney is Steve Pence, the former United States attorney for Kentucky. Yes, he was the head of that US attorney district. I tell ya, there is absolutely no way that Pence will allow Rick Pitino to sue anybody over this. It would expose Pitino to sworn depositions and testimony, and therein expose Pitino to criminal exposure. Letting Pitino sue would be all but legal malpractice. Sure. Let me "Alaska-ize" it: Just because you're shooting at the moose and the moose doesn't have a gun, don't mean ya still can't get wounded by a stray hunk-a-metal.

Attorney MartinMop! Where ya' been this week? Please do weigh in!

Welllllll....while they could be Title 18, section 2 co-conspirators...that's in theory....only. In reality, they will more likely be witnesses via the magic of prosecutive leverage, proffer letters, and qualified immunity. As was once said in my presence by a defense attorney: (Attorney picks up weighty Federal Statutory code book; plops it back down on the desk) "I know you've got something for my guy in there somewhere!"

I encourage y'all to read the John Feinstein article on this week's festivities: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/college-coaches-know-everything-that-goes-on-in-their-programs-even-rick-pitino/2017/09/27/07591920-a3a2-11e7-ade1-76d061d56efa_story.html?utm_term=.5f6a9173f14e

I'm speculating: I believe that their primary danger for criminal exposure would likely come from purposely false or misleading grand jury testimony.
-
Sure. That'd be wonderful! Would be way better if that player could corroborate the story with financial records, texts, etc. If that player was over 18, his testimony could be compelled; one's 5th Amendment rights against self-incrimination do not attach if the federal government issues immunity from prosecution. And you can bet that the 18 year olds are exactly who they would give a pass to in exchange for credible information. More likely than a player jealous of Bowen talking? Bowen talking. I'm quite sure that the Bowen family has already retained legal representation. Wonder if Adidas is paying for their lawyer (which sounds like a punch-line, but is entirely possible)
-
That would be the guy that worked at Nike until recently, when he moved to Adidas. Could be really good news for NCAA investigators, if not for the feds.
-
Thomas Bryant, in theory. Yes, I know he was a second rounder, but that's the one that makes sense as a Kenny J recruit. Butch likely mis-stated, and meant "High-level recruits".

AKA...the death penalty.
