  1. Look at all of these candidates jumping at the money and tradition. Man our search committee was awful. Couldn't get Bennett off of an 800000 yearly salary to leave Washington. They couldn't get Sean to leave without having to pay his exit. Yep our committee was awful falling for Crean.
  2. Sean Miller choice number 2 http://scoop.hoosiershq.com/2008/03/moving-right-along-to-sean-miller/
  3. http://www.insidethehall.com/2008/02/26/is-tony-bennett-a-viable-candidate-for-iu/
  4. When Bennett declined IU... http://www.insidethehall.com/tag/tony-bennett/
  5. If that is the case why would they consider firing Crean?
  6. Lmao take cover!!!!!
  7. lmao now this was awesome!
  8. Honestly in game I do think he would. Just not sold that he would recruit or develop better. In game I would be surprised to hear complaints. I think a few years ago his name was hotter and it would have been easier.
  9. Nice list. Surprised Dixon was on there. Makes me like Billy D more.
  10. Hell we haven't had a good discussion on this board in a while. Damn mods. Always ruining everything with their opinion. They shouldn't have those. Especially when they disagree with me...
  11. I think Marshall is a better in game coach than Crean. I have my doubts he can recruit here or fulfill other areas required to be coach at IU.
  12. No. When's the last time I "modded" something for a general statement. I talk to the poster if there have been issues behind the scenes talked about. Please, show me where I was insulting posters. Would it be better if I started with a woe is me, Crean sucks, IU sucks, then followed up with if people comparing MVC conference titles with Conference USA or B1G titles sound dumber than shit? Is that better? I mean that's how this stuff starts. I said I want a different coach but some of you guys just think you can throw shit against a wall and sound smart. The people I am discussing don't. I am just in awe at how much a portion of this fan base has fallen off over the years. I hope it's just people trying to prove in their way Crean is the wrong man for the job. But get real.
  13. You are right. You said when discussing my dumber than shit comment directed at everyone. It was not directed at you.
  14. Show me where I cursed at you. Ask others. I am very straightforward in PMs. I generalize here and explain a broad spectrum. Sorry you feel you fall under that umbrella.
  15. Lol. Dude just because someone posts something doesn't mean it's well thought out. Congrats to Marshall for winning at the MVC level. He is one hell of a coach. There are coaches like him at various levels that do the same. D1, 2, and 3. Could they all coach at IU? The funny thing is Marquette wants to get back to Crean level success.
  16. Why is it when any mod discusses any subject where the other side runs out of ways to prove they are wrong it instantly turns into "you are a mod, you shouldn't say that"? That really gets old for us...
  17. No. I said minimizing the conference he was in and acting like the MVC is C-USA where conference titles are equal is dumber than shit. Check your glasses and re-read.
  18. Dude there is not one single coach in America that is the first to lay eyes on a kid. It's handlers. AAU. People you trust. Wades name was out there to more people than Deane. It was an academics thing people didn't want to touch.
  19. This is from Marquettes website. Oh and Wade signed on to play with Crean not Deane. Wade's first year at Marquette was 2001. He was ineligible that year. Crean's first year at Marquette as HC was 1999. NATIONAL RECOGNITION Crean's revival of Marquette's storied basketball program has not gone unnoticed by the national pollsters as the Golden Eagles have spent 62 weeks in the rankings since November 2001. Prior to first appearing during Crean's tenure in the AP Top 25 on November 27, 2001, Marquette had been ranked for just 24 weeks the previous 15 seasons. Marquette's consecutive year-end rankings in 2002 and 2003 were the first time for the program in a quarter century, and on March 4, 2003, the school earned its highest ranking since 1978 by reaching No. 8 in AP poll, which the team matched in 2006-07.
  20. Completely agree. I think his energy brought us back to a position where we were on ESPN/CBS as much. We need a change if he doesn't win a B1G title in the next year or two. That said, can we all please stop comparing random low major conference titles to Conference USA with Louisville and Cincy also members as well the B1G. Seriously acting like winning a conference title at Wichita St is the same as winning Conference USA before the mergers or the B1G makes us sound dumber than shit. Conference USA was a damn strong conference that saw quite of national champs. MVC is way < C-USA. Sorry but people bringing up conference titles continuously has driven me nuts. Let's try comparing apples to apples if we want to be realistic. Marshall, is a solid coach. Made some noise in the tournament but it is no better than Crean. Congrats on the MVC titles, but the fact it taken him this long to become nationally relevant in spite of his winning shows how much he is thought of at the national level. He is no longer in the up and coming level major schools want to buy in the amount it would cost to steal him from the death row that is the MVC. People had overs ten years of video of him winning the MVC before he was relevant. Stevens went to back to back national title games with a roster nearly everyone would be lucky enough to get out of the first weekend. If you can coach against the big boys at a mid major and win you deserve a chance. Stevens did that in November at Butler and March. I want that man as my coach.
  21. Where were they before him? He built them to what they are today. Their fans much like ours have a diluted self perception based on basketball 20-30 years ago. They were not good when he took them over. He made them respectable. Good enough for Marquette. He took us over knowing were going to suck. He brought us back to a better level than what it was when he got here. I am thankful for that. We need a change in the coming year or so if he doesn't win the B1G this year or next. But to act like he was some **** move at the time is crazy. Nobody wanted this job that could win and graduate kids. Only one person will this fan base get behind. It isn't Marshall, Drew, or any low end major we can conjure up. What if Stevens doesn't happen? We are still in same boat with a different name making fun of mannerisms, offense no matter the ranking, because Bob Knight did it this way when I was a kid and some dumbass making $3 million is trying to reinvent a wheel I grew up knowing. #StevensorBust2016
  22. I think they were pretty clear at the time. He built Marquette back from the drop off after McGuire. Final Four. Graduating kids. Integrity. Hell Calipari would have crawled to Bloomington (his words). But we wouldn't give him the time of day. Why? Because there is more to just IU basketball than wins and losses. You can be an ass and those things can be overlooked but you better 1. Win and 2. Graduate kids. Unless Crean does better at 1. He will be gone soon. But my god. You guys think Crean is bad? Look at the list we are compiling. #StevensorBust2016
  23. That is the most ignorant thing I have seen on this board in some time. Were you even following the coaching search at the time? Man, I hate it when our AD is trying to bring a young coach in that has been to the Final Four with integrity coming off the Sampson mess. That has to be like the biggest swing and miss of all time. I mean, we obviously miss out on obscure head coaches that win 15 conference titles in a row in a conference that has a collective RPI yearly in the 200s. But hey he won those titles. I mean it's like Crean. He only made those final fours because of Wade. Hell Crean could too. Doesn't mean jack here at IU. #StevensorBust2016
