I want to slow walk my prior statement back a tad as my knee-jerk reaction was probably a bit extreme. I 100% appreciate the loyalty that he is showing his offensive coaches by not allowing someone to come in and clean house. I am a big fan of Mike Hart and it would be a loss to lose him imo.

Jeebus. Is CTA a control freak? That's not an ideal view for a program to have when attempting to build a program from nothing. Give the OC and DC a longer rope to do what they want.

I would like to see Brian Wright from Toledo. He's absolutely destroyed the MAC in his what, 3-4 yrs there? Now that Debord is gone, we have a relatively young staff so White fits there. The players will relate to him and he to them. However, destroying the MAC and translating that to the talent level of the Big Ten remains to be seen. For me personally, I am willing to take the risk on a younger guy than risk going back to Canada who has shown medicroty at best. Of course I would love a big-splashy hire, but I think we can all agree that isn't happening.

I will be candid, if Canada is hired, I will be disappointed and gladly eat crow should he manage to produce consistent team improvements.

And suffice it to say that most of those series were 3 and outs.

Hopefully he has opened his playbook to something more than the QB draw-decide play that he and Lynch ran at least 3 times in every series back in the day. That was maddening to watch.

Listening to the Peegs Podcast this morning and Matt Weaver said that Canada was approached. Sounds like "...IU is making a concerted effort to get...legit guys." Another name mentioned was Mike Yurcich who OSU just hired from OK ST to be their QB Coach. I'm excited to hear that there is an actual effort to find someone and not looking for a warm body to fill a role. CTA wouldn't put a time table on the search so we'll wait and see.

Is he waiting on an OC announcement? I'm assuming he'll have to sit a year?

This makes me happy. Sam Story is a solid source (based on past precedent anyway).

And not Canada...again.
