The four-time defending state champion Lady Indians are facing a tough enough test with Wednesday’s Class AAAAAAA state quarterfinal at a Norcross team looking for payback after coming up short to McEachern in last year’s title game. However, the Lady Indians (21-5) will have to take on the Lady Blue Devils (25-3) without forward Kemia Ward, who suffered a torn ACL during the fourth quarter of McEachern’s 81-53 win over Tift County in the second round Thursday. McEachern may also be without Chanel Wilson, who also left the game with a knee injury. Wilson was scheduled to get an MRI today, coach Phyllis Arthur said, and her status for Wednesday’s game is uncertain.

The No. 3-ranked Indiana University men's swimming and diving team won five titles on Saturday night en route to winning the team championship at the 2018 Big Ten Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. The Hoosiers earned back-to-back Big Ten Championships for the first time since winning three-straight from 1983-85. The title is the 26th in program history. For the week, IU won a total of 24 medals – 14 gold, seven silver and three bronze. The 14 league crowns are the most for the team since also winning 14 in 1975. Indiana also won four of the five relays at the Big Ten Championships for a second-straight year – a program first. IU won the team title with a total score of 1,658 points. Michigan was second with 1,617.5 points, while Ohio State was third with 1,300.5 points.
