I'm actually pretty proud of myself for that one. I never put 2 and 2 together after we started recruiting Clark until now.

I'd say 5-6 man class. IU would rather land 1 or 2 of these 6'7 wings/tweeners than a big man they aren't sure on. IU, right now,  thinks they can do better than Gustys and Cimino. Whether that be through grad transfers or what is yet to be seen, but that is what I'm hearing. Either way, I would expect IU to recruit deep into the spring for this class.

In terms of being confident, I'd say Cunningham is the one I'd feel most confident about committing to IU as of now. Iowa State remains a player with Vaughn going to UNLV. Bradley seems to be Mom's favorite. Depaul is nearly out because Mom wants him away from Chicago. If MSU gets involved, things could change. Not sure on Creighton's position here, but I believe they are actively recruiting him as well.

Soooooo....cross your fingers for a grad transfer in terms of bigs, and be ready for a commit or two from someone who posters swear is the exact same player as Devin Davis :)

There's a video in this Link.

SCOUTING REPORT: Doral Moore is a 7 footer with a 7’4″ wingspan. He’s very nimble on his feet and runs the floor extremely well. On defense, Moore uses his length and athleticism to quickly react by guarding the paint. Offensively, he puts plenty of pressure on opposing bigs who aren’t able to change ends as swiftly, because of the speed in which he changes ends. In the post, Moore is very effective turning over his left shoulder and finishing with a jump hook. He’ll need to add to his repertoire of offensive moves, and get quite a bit stronger so he’s not having to fade away so much in the paint. However, Doral’s upside makes him a very interesting prospect and a coveted recruit by some of the nation’s most elite programs.

Look, I grow weary of it too.  The negativity has infested every IU message board that I read.  I've honestly considered just taking a break from the boards.  But for whatever reason, I can't do it.  I keep coming back.  People are entitled to their opinions and I realize there is a lot of venting going on and that is fine, I'm not suggesting that I don't value their sense of frustration.  I understand it, I am frustrated with the team too.

Speaking of supporting the team, I never stop.  My buddy at work can vouch for me, I've always talked about IU basketball no matter the situation.  Those first three years under Crean, I'd discuss each game.  A lot of people where I work barely acknowledged IU hoops until Cody's freshman year.  Then suddenly hey, everyone is an IU hoops fan again!  Well, I never left that wagon and I'll never stop doing so.  Same with IU football, I talk about the team all the time.  Even though they pull the Charlie Brown/Lucy routine on me most of the time.

Getting back on point, no matter what anyone thinks Tom definitely will have the opportunity to get the train back on the tracks.  You can't tell me he isn't extremely frustrated too.  The guy cares and works hard.  We may not agree with everything he does but such is life.  It is a results oriented business.  Get the right result, people overlook your flaws.  Get the wrong result, every flaw is picked open like a festering scab.  Adversity can make you or break you.  I know that from personal experience.  I don't think Tom Crean is going to give up the fight easily.  One year from now, we'll have a much better idea about how our coach and our program has been able to handle and hopefully overcome a rough season.  Coach Crean's own season on the brink.  I'm definitely not giving up on him yet.

I'm sorry, you shouldn't be posting anything encouraging. The doom and gloom crowd gets depressed when they see this kind of stuff. They think it shows that you don't care because you aren't blasting the program. That makes them sad and brings the board down.

Looking back at B1G play, and the scores of our losses. 6/8 of the losses in B1G play have been by less than 10 points. Now, I know that a loss is a loss no matter how bad the deficit is, but with the youngest team in B1G I'm not very mad at this stat. Having a leader in hard times will get us out of these very narrow defeats, along with team experience. Come this time next year, IMHO I believe IU will be in the top of the pack in the B1G(with our without Vonleh, hopefully with). Balls will begin to bounce our way.

With 1:28 to go in regulation Louisville was up 8 points .. 53-45 versus Notre Dame last year.  With 1:28 to go Indiana was up 4 points .. 65-61 versus Penn St.  Both took bad losses with just 7 games remaining.  Their players and fans had to be crushed by that loss as well, but the Louisville players and coaches made a decision at that point and ran off 16 straight wins.

I believe there is a tremendous amount of talent on this Indiana team.  I support and believe in the staff and players.  I could care less what the end result (win/loss) the rest of the season; however I do expect our players to carry themselves from the time they rise to the time they hit the pillow at night to have the air of confidence that they own the rest of these teams and everyone of them is the man to do it when their number is called.  After a made or missed free throw if there needs to be a look over to the bench for communication, it needs to made with a look of “Yeah I own the frecken place, I’m going to drain this next one also, btw is there anything specific you would like me to accomplish as I kick this guy’s seat defensively for the next three possessions?” I want to see CTC and staff put to rest the doubts that many have brought up over the last few weeks.

I felt like I was left at the altar Wednesday night.

The lull in the pit of my stomach still sat heavy a day later. It was a beautiful ceremony that ended with a desperation play in 6.1 seconds.

The seats had already started to empty two minutes prior because we had this one in the bag. The formality of the clock winding down was all that was left.

But instead, myself and the rest of Assembly Hall stood in amazement.

The student section stood and yelled as a last ditch effort to do what they could do as the invisible sixth man. Despite having the best student section in the NCAA, it was too little, too late.

My mind flashed back to the Illinois game in the 2012-2013 season. My mouth agape. The excitement of a much-needed win was in our grasp. Two minutes of effective defense was all that was needed … or so most of us thought.

As per usual, I will boycott ESPN and Sports Center for the next two days in hopes of evading the constant reminder of a loss that should not have been. I take that time to grieve about what could have been.

I often talk about a respectable loss. That, my dear IU fans, was not.

    What to say?
I’ve searched my vast vocabulary to come up with the words to comfort Yogi after yet another loss. An awkward silence ensues because I have run out of words to say.

I read the frustration on his face. I also see it in the face of his teammates.

I can’t say that I understand how they feel. When it’s all said and done, I’m just a passionate sideline spectator.

They don’t get paid for what they do (although they should). Their drive is the love of the game. The reward is winning. Lately they have been coming up short.

Working a 40-hour week and coming home without a paycheck can put a bad taste in anyone’s mouth.
There is a difference between wanting to win and needing to win. The drive is distinctly different.

We wanted to win the Big Ten Conference last year. We fought for it down to the very last basket at Michigan.

We needed to win last night … but Penn State wanted it more.

    Don’t blame Coach Crean
There were so many factors that played a part in a loss like the Penn State game … but once again the focus turns to Coach Crean.

On more than one occasion, he was accused of being out coached. By now, I’m sure he is used to the criticism and accepts what part he plays in every loss.

He will review why the team fell apart in the last two minutes of the game. Why was the inbound play so difficult to execute? Why is it difficult to handle a full-court press?

He is the kind of coach that critiques his coaching first and the players second.

I know a different Crean than most of you do. Coach Crean has so many dimensions to him. He is the kind of coach that most players want to play for.

If the players don’t believe in their coach, there is no way they will believe in his mission. He cares about the young men that most of you only see for 40 minutes a couple of times a week.

Coach Crean dedicates many hours to developing a well-rounded team. It goes beyond executing a well-drawn play.

He doesn’t pretend to know everything.

This is the same coach that orchestrated a Wisconsin win, a Michigan win, and Sweet Sixteen appearances two years in a row.

I am not a fair weather fan. To call for the replacement of Coach Crean is absurd. Consider this my ode to Crean.

    Transition year continues
Everyone knew this year would be different. This is a transition year.
As the hopes of the team obtaining a nod to the NCAA tournament flicker to a dismal, ambient light, the March 16th deadline of Selection Sunday quickly approaches.

It becomes more likely that we will be watching the tournament from our couch with the rest of America.
We may have to settle on the fact that there’s always next year … right?

    Or is there?

Naturally, the discussion shifts to who will stay and who will go. I am asked that very question on a daily basis. It is also a question that each player will have to ask themselves at the end of the season.

I hope that we will have a team that returns intact and more mature, but change means growth.

I will be at Purdue on Saturday cheering on the Hoosiers as if nothing ever happened Wednesday night. I’m going to cheer as if we are number one in the conference.

I pray for the loss of short term memory for this talented basketball team.

I also hope the fans can forgive and forget.

Was in Orlando with the family over Xmas break. Got some Cyber-Monday tickets to the Magic game.

We were there early enough for the shoot-around. My 7 1/2 is a serious IU basketball freak. He has not missed a minute of a game (thanks to the DVR and BTN) since the start of the 12 win season. The kid shoots for 45 minutes a day in the driveway and wears IU bball gear to his little league baseball games if we let him.

Anyway, Vic comes off the court and towards the tunnel; I give the little guy my IU hat and a Sharpie and he practically leaps over the tunnel railing yelling "pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease". Victor sees him, we snap a mediocre phone picture, and VO signs the IU hat with "Victor Oladipo, #4, GO IU". Loved that he didn't put his new number with the Magic on there.

I love the accountability of those fans that said this season is going to be a roller coaster ride and we are going to sit back enjoy the growth and development of our players & that they remain supportive of the players and coaching staff even when the ball drops down our rim 1 or 2 times less than what it would take to gain the "W".

I love the high bar of character Yogi displayed during the post game interview last night.  In the face of huge frustration, you could see the determination & belief this lad has.  I really felt he was nothing short of  a class act during the interview & it made me very proud to be a Hoosier fan.  He certainly absorbed the responsibility for  what transpired last night & you can see he is ready to move forward with a very positive expectation.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the development of our players this year.  I believe these guys have made great strides in the physical & mental areas of their games.  They just need to get an absolute belief and vision of what their standard level of play is and be able to play with that through the emotional roller coaster ride (great plays & turnovers) of each game --- possession  --  pass -- etc.

It is awesome to see a coaching staff remain accountable to the principle of getting better each and every day. CTC talks about not accepting after a win what you would not during a loss.  During the highlights of our Wisky win you may or may not have noticed the way in which we crashed the boards during the shots.  Some of our players were all over this concept at this stage of the season.  A couple were not as much.  I didn't see anything in the media or IU forums regarding this issue, but our coaches were on it and players made significant strides by the time we beat Michigan at home.  I'm going to mention Troy W & Austin E only to highlight what I feel is a small example of what the coaching staff is in the process of doing here. I'm certainly not calling them out in a negative way here & I apologize if on an offensive board AE was told to hang back for the sake of getting back on defense during the Wisky game.  Anyway I hope you enjoy watching the differences in these two highlights and I appreciate what the staff is doing for these athletes.

Interesting points. Here is the thing, Crean did recruit shooters. Gary Harris for one I can thing of. Didn't get him. Is that Crean's fault? Because a kid would rather play at a marque school like Michigan St. than IU? Kids today don't think of IU as an elite program. IU is their safety school now and we all have to get use to it.

His offense is no different than 90% of the offenses in college basketball. It relies on the talent of the individual because all the "5 Star" kids everyone has to get want their talents developed for the NBA. The NBA is an iso game for the most part. Kids don't want to play motion because it doesn't show off their "skills". This offense worked good enough last year to win IU's first outright title in the B1G in 20 years. Yes I keep bringing that up because it is something that is won over a period of months, not 3 weekends in March. It is the marathon, not the sprint which I find impressive.

Did you honestly expect much more this year with all of our new freshman and lack of expirence????? Crean brought this program back to a level the not anyone wouldve thought of. Not only that, he brought us back quicker than what we expected. Be happy with the team that we have and players that know what it means to wear "Indiana" across their chests. They're a young team that is being developed day by day from coach crean and his staff. Next year will be a different year with more expierence and even more talent.

I've read some interesting replys to my post and I have a couple of questions/replys: How do you teach not turning the ball over? What is the drill? As far as the inbounds plays, could it not be execution? Automatically the coaches fault that inbounds plays that probably worked with 2 NBA players last year won't work this year? How much patience should we have? I don't know. We waited 20 years for an out right B1G title, I can wait a few more. Sweet Sixteen loss to Syracuse? You do realize that the core of that team is one of only 2 undefeated teams left right? And a guy from The Movement can't sniff the floor.
