I would expect nothing less from a school in Morgan County Indiana . A county that has produced more College Basketball National title winning coaches than anywhere else on earth!!

Isn’t it mostly off campus? Assistant could easily handle that for the time being. Hell transfer portal dudes commit after and over Zoom calls these days .

Mine is a former head basketball coach . He has a Tv set up every year in the teacher lounge . My first year at the school he even came into my room and turned it on the old school TV I still have in my room to show me it still worked and I could watch it ! LOL he gets it!

If he was having the exact same season he is right now at Kansas in year 1 at IU. Indiana fans would be very happy and see it as a good first step towards raising the floor program IMO

I’m not saying they are going to fire him they would never, but you certainly could nudge him out the door aka put him out to pasture by encouraging him to look at other jobs . Thinking of it more like a Calipari type situation driven from Kansas end of things Again I’m not even predicting it will happen BUT if they think they have a real shot at Nate Oats and Kansas loses today and bows out of the tourney in the first round ? Go take a peak in the Kansas boards or look up some stuff insiders have been writing. they were pushing a story that he spent multiple days last off season in Stillwater , OK contemplating taking the Oklahoma State job . It was published and he had to comment on it . That’s at the very least a strained relationship right now

I agree but he’s stated multiple times that he still wants to coach passed this year . Kansas fans are NOT happy they want him out now . many believe that will would be able to go get Nate Oats from Alabama (no idea if that’s true but they believe they can ) If admin desires to nudge him in that direction and he still wants to coach ? IU would be the perfect landing spot . Hed have the resources similar to Kansas and he’s coached in the Big Ten before (it’s a little different ) also too if be easy for him to raise the floor of the program . BUT again the chip on his shoulder might push him for 4-5 more good years . Who knows you are probably right . Better to talk about this than McCollum or Brownell For the next 90 min till tipoff lol

Man if we can’t / don’t get Stevens . I would be so FREAKING pumped to get Bill Self for 4-5 years . I think he’d come to IU with a chip on his shoulder about the way Kansas has treated him this year after winning two titles there . A couple of Big Ten titles and possibly a Final Four run or two in 5 years . Then I bet once we were back in the National picture that little mass hole would be begging to come home !! Lol

Always thought Shaka was a solid coach loved watching him dog walk Purdue out of the tourney then the 2012 round 2 games vs IU was a tough gritty fun to watch game . They got an amazing look for the win thank goodness it didn’t go in . Texas is a tough place to win it’s been through it number of coaches the same way IU has . Wonder if that plays a factor at all ? I would take him over the majority of guys discussed (Brownell , McCollum , McDermott , Collins etc)

I'm starting to lean towards him potentially being what so many have said is the "mystery guy" it makes sense that Dolson would want to A) keep it tight lipped as to avoid the amount that people will be able to talk about the past issues. B) The hiring of TurnKey to properly vet him all the way around gives you a safety net Think about it if it were to leaked early on that he was the candidate Dolson had zeroed in on then people would have dug into past for more than a month and public opinion or higher ups might soured on the idea. Now Scott waits till McNeese State is done playing and announces it as a done deal before the portal opens (As long as McNeese doesn't go on a run to the S16) . You can tell everyone that TurnKey did there due diligence and you vetted him for more than a month and did your HW and feel good about the decision. You've controlled the story and now its solely about winning

If Ben McCollum was Scott’s back up plan all along and he his preference is Iowa , and Scott still hasn’t locked up or his “big fish” or whatever hasn’t signed on the dotted line then at risk of this turning into a sh** show . Pick up the phone . Call Will Wade offer him 7.5 - 8 million a year and let’s get back to winning basketball games please !

This board is bipolar . Literally multiple insiders come on here and alludes to Stevens , posts Florida GIFs about planes and a meeting . Even years and numbers . then bam 9 AM now we’re battling a cellar Dweller conference school for a D2 coach . Awesome stuff can’t wait for this coaching search to be over !
