  1. Just gonna chuck threes now out of frustration. This could get really ugly.
  2. Really inexcusable for Sisley to be sitting at just 7 minutes with the way Tucker has played
  3. This game is so weird. Don’t want to bring bad juju but there are times where the lane feels as clogged as it did under the coaching of the previous ten years and the offense seems hellbent on still forcing it in the lane
  4. I thought for sure when Sisley hit that 3 that it’d be the start of more offense from more guys. But let’s hope we get another guy or two to join Wilkerson as an offensive threat in the second half
  5. It feels like something that NBA scorers can do so well that it’s become standard in college too, despite the fact that collegiate teams—even elite ones—need way more time to setup a good shot
  6. Looks like SLU will pull away with this one! This guy Dunlap is 6 for 6 from deep off the bench
  7. Really sucks to be down 5 at the half in this one. USC seems very beatable tonight for this IU team but just ugly stretches on offense with a few really dumb fouls.
  8. Cronin’s gotta be wondering how his bigger more athletic team got cooked by Bailey. (obviously I’m very happy Bailey had that performance and hope he pulls it together consistently. I’m just stressed by this game.)
  9. Lamar is our offense right now. Hope someone joins him soon.
  10. Schertz’s SLU team down to a Davidson team even Archie—now 22-41 in the A10—beat by 25. Really surprising so far, but SLU can’t seem to stop Davidson in the paint
  11. 12 minutes until the scheduled tip and the DePaul-St John’s lead in just got to the under 8 TO. Going to be really late before the NBCSN feed cuts to the IU-USC game
  12. This is the dude that had the Sherrone Moore tip a week before it broke. Generational Michigan hater, but also prone to believe anything negative based on that. That said, the Andy Kennedy mention is in reference to Kennedy talking about Yaxel’s portal recruitment at the end of last season:
  13. Florida running away with it at home up 62-39 against Alabama with the student section chanting “G League Dropout” whenever Bediako touches the ball. Florida is looking really good of late, though they had that head scratching loss to the Steven Pearl Auburn.
  14. I believe there was a weird AD situation that led Willard to really want out of there. Plus, I think he’s just a much better fit in a basketball first conference rather one that’s ruled much more by football. Buzz Williams does have a history of tanking the first season on a new job, then “rebuilding” and getting the program at a decent—but not great/elite—spot in 4-5 years and then moving on. We’ll see if this holds at Maryland, but feels like unlike his previous stops Maryland fans do want men’s basketball to be back and I don’t know if they can handle empty arenas for another season.
  15. Haha good point. I keep wanting to forget that game
  16. Yeah, they do have a great win like us against Purdue at home. Otherwise, their home slate is not impressive in the slightest and I think IU and many others would be undefeated with that schedule.
  17. We currently stand at 1-6 in Quad 1 games with 6 opportunities left. However, 5 of those 6 are on the road with the home game being MSU, which is a tough matchup for us given their athleticism. Of the 5 road Quad 1 opportunities, UCLA and USC are the “worst” two on NET. On KenPom, OSU is only marginally worse than UCLA. So I agree that there’s plenty of time left with that great home win this week, but the schedule did us no favors and of our quad 1 opportunities, UCLA and USC are the most promising for IU in terms of the predictive analytics.
  18. DDV has quietly put together a top 15 recruiting class. Definitely some misses many of us were bummed about in September/October, but 3 program foundational recruits + returning contributing players like Dorn and Sisley and maybe Miles, Drake, and Harris. Obviously still need an inside out big man and it would be great to pickup a high level primary ball handler, but it should be easier to drop the bag rather than needing to manage the budget for an entirely brand new roster top down.
  19. Main competition was Louisville. I don't believe Duke had offered him (e..g, here), in part because of him wanting to reclass and whether he'd fit with who Scheyer is bringing in (and potentially retaining).
  20. Tbh I feel like DDV is the first coach we’ve had who will take the conference tournament seriously and actually think about it more. As an aside, in an era of super conferences with seriously unbalanced schedules the conference tournaments are much bigger deal than the regular season. In my opinion, when schedules were more or less balanced with the teams you play I agree that the regular season title matters a ton and is reflective of your body of work. But not now - just look at Iowa’s B1G schedule. (In CFB it’s even worse, check out PSU’s B1G slate next year.)
