The other "insiders" are trying to concoct an excuse. "Well, the contract was sent, but then the Celtics found out so BS panicked...yadda yadda yadda...." Don't believe any of their crap. I do give Isac credit for at least coming back to post. The others are hiding out.

Sure buddy. Just like the other "insiders" with all of their information. Hopefully people don't believe these rumors from the "insiders." They are awfully quiet after their news got debunked. You won't hear from them all night. Take what they say as fun "maybes."

Crickets from the “insiders.” Everyone thinks they know and wants to feel important, but let’s face it, no one runs to message boards if they are insiders. Some people just need validation that they are important.

Hey now, I have to develop some anonymous message board cred on here. It's important to get the approval of all of you, no?

My one take away from this board and thread is that there is a love and passion for IU basketball. We might not all agree on who the next coach will be, who is in the know, etc, but we all care and want IU to be a winning team again. That is awesome to see and it is so much fun to speculate and read everyone's posts. Go Hoosiers!

I get what you are saying, but why would he care about that if he is going to be the next IU coach? That's like any employer asking you to stay a few more weeks after you already told them you were accepting another position and put in your two weeks. Why would you care about your old employer at that point?

Why? If he is your guy then announce him as the next coach and sign the contract. Date it the day after Woodson's last day as the coach/end of the IU season. Doesn't make sense to wait in my opinion, but I'm not a lawyer, admin, or anyone that deals with contracts.

I don't understand or buy the answer that it will not be until at least March to hear anything if it is Brad Stevens. There would be no reason to wait if he was going to be the coach. Why would he care about staying with Boston for a few more weeks if he was going to be the next coach at IU? My guess is that the longer we hear nothing on that front, the less likely it will be him. If it is going to be BS, it will happen in the next week or so.

I am pretty good at catching a buzz, so maybe I should be on board with him.

I say this with all sincerity. After spending all weekend hitting refresh on this thread, we don't really know anything about who the next coach will be. Some are speculating IU has their guy without actually saying who that guy is. The rest has been banter back and forth about how candidate A, B, or C would or wouldn't fit as the next coach at IU. Yesterday I decided that I wasn't going to stay on here and check-- to have a life. Yet, here I am as my students are busy working on an assignment that I assigned by design to give me free time to check out the newest gossip. I need to get a life.

It was in alphabetical order....Thank goodness. I give it about a negative 1000000% chance it would be Alford, but they probably still felt obligated to put him on the list. I will quit watching IU if they do.

Articles like this give me hope......and feelings in certain regions that I will not discuss. Please please please hire Stevens!! He would be a rock star and the whole fan base would be his groupie.

Also, $10 million living in Bloomington goes further than $10 million in Boston (if he was making that much money right now--which we know he is not).
