IUBB @ Northwestern - Wednesday, 01.22.25 @ 7:00 ET on BTN

Remember guys it's hard to win on the road :P -
Ahh well good deal and that's completely fair.
-
He's gonna reblock you with comments like that LOL
-
Well he's laid a few eggs already soooo
-
Yeah they're going to give us some real problems I feel like.
-
Northwestern taking it to Michigan on Michigan's court. I think I need to change my prediction LOL
-
That honestly happens more often than not. Rarely do good players succeed at the coaching side when they switch.
-
Mgbako is not a five star, but he is also not slow. In a funk and unmotivated? Very. But when he drives into the paint off the wing or corner he's very fast and very explosive. At his size he can be a big problem offensively. Get in the paint and put it up. He was doing that a few times the last couple games and drawing fouls in the process which is always a good thing. So no more threes for Stella until she gets her groove back :P In the meantime hit the wing and cut or hit the corner to cut/sneak into the dunker's spot if Ballo/Reneau is getting collapsed on. Speaking of Reneau, he's one of my personal favorites on the team, I just wish he would actually try on defense. That goes back to motivation, which is the job of the HC to motivate his guys and teach them how to develop and improve skills. I'd have to watch more of Tucker's game to give my personal assessment on him. I admittedly haven't paid as much attention with him as I probably should. It's just disappointing for me as I see such a high ceiling with all of our players but we're stuck in the floor most of the time.

Ok well there's not really anything you can say or do to change what others choose to believe so why stress over that? People are going to believe what they want and express it. Information that is shared may or may not be true but it does give a basis for conversations and insight as to how others perceive what is going on. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's fair that you choose not to believe what is being shared by some, and I and others won't try to convince you otherwise. Just have fun with it, it gives us something to discuss while we wait to see how the circus plays out.
-
Ok well as I said before, you just have to decide for yourself what to believe and what not to believe. Take what is said with a grain of salt and remember that what they share is often not the final decision, just what is being passed along to them. I can't really offer any other advice than that. I'm fairly new to this board so I'm less familiar with everyone here so I try to follow the advice I gave you as well so as not to drive myself nutters diving down rabbit holes lol
-
Well you'll just have to read their post history regarding matters like these and decide for yourself if you trust them or not. Up to you. Either way just keep in mind that what they say is usually never final. As I said they are not in the room as the decisions are ultimately being made, just passing along what's being told to them. You have to take that info with a grain of salt friend.
-
What insiders are told and relay to us isn't final the majority of the time. People have to remember you guys aren't in the room as the final decision is being made, but are in the know with the overall processes leading up to the final decision. Most of us are aware your word isn't law or binding but you're connected enough to not be wrong with what you're being told and feeding us. At the end of the day those in the room could ultimately decide to go a completely different route and just not share it until the decision is formally announced by them. We do appreciate the info you guys can and do share though.

Our program is the definition of insanity...
-
That's a completely fair assessment, I'm just hoping QB really is a lame duck at this point so Pam and Scott can do what's best for the program and get us a new HC.

And he wonders why he's being sat after still launching them endlessly. GET IN THE PAINT MGBAKO! -
I would imagine the interim title would come with a different contract for the coach that is chosen to do it. IU can write into that contract that by entering into the interim position, the interim cannot be a candidate for the head coach vacancy. I have seen this done with interim superintendents in the school system. Easy. Have them write it up, I will explain it to them lol

How many games in a row has he not made a three? He needs to just start driving into the paint off the wing/corner or hover the dunker spot at this point. His outside pressure is just done. He was fast tonight and with his size he can be a serious problem if he does. He drew multiple fouls tonight from it too. -
There were a lot of people saying good things about the players in the game thread tonight friend. They showed heart and played hard, even if it was messy.
-
If our administration can't tell an interim that it's only until the end of season and then we find a new coach, I will drive over there and do it for them. "Woodson is out, you're the interim but at the end of the season we're finding a new coach." Seriously. Doesn't matter how well they do. Just do the best you can but once the season is done it's HC search time. If we get our a$$e$ handed to us by Northwestern our only hope for the next home game not being truly embarrassing is if the students do actually protest and not show up. At least then the chances of the "Fire Mike Woodson" chants will be a lot lower. It will still be a chit show though.
-
I'm of the belief that the only way MW keeps his job is if we hang the banner. Nothing else saves him.
-
Let's just wait and see what happens with the Northwestern game. Woody might have a two hump camel in his way. Over the first hump but the second one might still get him.
