    I came here to discuss the process and mindset within the University on matters such as this, and the “Fire Woodson” crowd didn’t care for that. The mistake I made was suggesting their reactions were emotional, which elicited an extremely emotional response from the unemotional and rational posters whom I called “emotional”.

    So why did he publicly dismiss his interest in IU and any possibility that he’d take the job? Why not say “They made an incredibly generous offer and I love it there, but our family decided that this is the place for us”? Instead, we got the “Masshole” soliloquy, which was dismissive to both IU and IU fans.

    I’m not missing the point at all. You’re offering a highly emotional and nonsensical “solution” because it would make you feel better. It would care in the least about the program or the University or the players, but you’d feel better. Let’s Go!

    You know someone who has donated at least $10M to IU? That’s a small list, but great. And yeah, Tracy was a potential roadblock, to say the least, but she was far from the only one. What reasons did your friend give you for why it wasn’t done, as well as why BS spoke about the job publicly in the manner he did?

    Dialing down the emotions is the objective? Interesting - I have been told that none of this is emotionally based, though it’s also been communicated that any emotional outbursts are the fault of the University.
