It’s not so much a committee approach as it is one that requires multiple inputs and consensus building. Most of the powers defer to the AD but, if he fails to seek their opinion / input, he’s left open to significant criticism. Ask his predecessor how that works out.

I was only saying that it was futile to expect a firing in early December based on the panicky response from two lousy games in late November. Dolson is never going to do that and that really set a few people off into a rage. I get that people are upset because we played poorly and the program isn’t moving forward under Woodson, but it isn’t going to magically create a different response or result. Interesting to be attacked for saying what I know to be true, but that’s the nature of internet fan sites.

It happens. It was awful. It was also one game in late November and hardly cause for people to flip out.

Miller was far from a sure thing. We didn’t look beyond him and it hurt us badly. Had we been more diligent, he’d have never been hired. It was a failure of leadership.

For this team, a top three conference finish and a berth in the Sweet Sixteen. I’d be shocked if that happens however. Building a roster of portal guys offers too many opportunities for things to get off the rails. We’ll see if that’s what happens.

I would’ve been okay had he been fired then but I knew it wasn’t happening (I was attacked for saying that last Spring) and told everyone here that it wasn’t. I was only responding to the “Fire him now” people here today when you and a few others started stomping around in anger that he’s not being chased out of town immediately. I find it amusing and indicative of our “new” fan base. Just the reality of big time college sports today.

We locked in on Miller, to the exclusion of anyone else and to the whispers that he wasn’t ready for a big time job. Quite a few people knew he was a long shot. Woodson was as ready as Miller, if not more so.

Sure there is. It may not happen but panicky decisions now ensure that it won’t.

None of this is rational or clear-headed. I get it, you’re a fan and emotional, but that’s not a great way to evaluate anything or make decisions.

That’s our difference - you judge on one or two games (two in late November versus one in early December) versus the program. My goal is a better program.

Crean was no better than Woodson as a coach and he squandered far more talented teams than MW has been able to assemble.
