Beard is a more proven coach but with a past that makes him nearly unhirable. Will Wade did what every other successful coach has done (except he got caught) and since he was at a non-basketball school like LSU, they made an example out of him. Wade is 10 years younger, very advanced in working the portal, and is an elite recruiter.

Just telling you. Due to the administration's moral superiority, we're going to end up with someone like Ben McCollum or Jerrod Calhoun instead of someone like Chris Beard or Will Wade who you wouldn't have to worry about for the next 15-20 years. These guys are going to be walking into an absolute powder keg. No P5 experience, never coached having to meet absurd expectations, zero experience recruiting high level players, zero experience managing high level players with egos, etc etc What do you think is going to happen? Going 28-2 in any conference is an enormous feat regardless of who you are and not something I would expect anyone to do.

He was out of job and no NFL team was willing to give him head coaching/GM double duties which is something he absolutely wanted.

My expectation was a second weekend appearance with a $6mil roster. WTF does that have to do with the Southland? You think Mike Woodson is going 28-2 in the Southland?

Steve Lutz recently coached in the Southland and was 21-11. Now at OK State and probably on the hot seat.

No I don’t think any high major D1 coach could just stroll into McNeese St and go 28-2.

Will Wade will be a front runner for the North Carolina job when it’s open. Sean Miller and Rick Pitino weren’t given show-causes, that’s why. Will Wade had to take the fall for guys like Rick and Sean to survive.

He already turned down $10 million to begin with and voluntarily walked away from the sideline to become a GM. But yeah he wants to return at the collegiate level lol.

How does that differentiate from any schedule McNeese St has played in the last 15 years? Are you seriously trying to knock the job Wade has done at one of the worst jobs in the country?
