  1. I don’t believe Tucker has lived up to his hype, but you can just tell this is a guy at the end of the road. I think the wear and tear of multiple surgeries and playing through chronic pain the last several seasons has finally taken its toll.
  2. Enright, Alexis, etc bust their @$$ and play with emotion every time out. They’re very limited as players though.
  3. I see a team that’s vastly undersized and vastly undermanned. Reality is that this is one of the least talented teams in the conference. I don’t think effort and hustle is an issue like it has been in years past, we’re just not very good. Wilkerson is the only guy who would start on every B10 team and Tucker would maybe start on a handful of non-contending teams. Sam Alexis, who does give a ton of effort and energy, was the 10th/11th man for Florida last year. Him being our go to big says it all as to where this team stands.
  4. ? He’s a top 30 kid in his class. This team is vastly devoid of talent, not sure IU is in a position to turn down talent at the moment.
  5. Not really. Kory Barnett took the HC job at Oral Roberts, Tom Ostrom had previously coached here with Archie and had been fired, and Chester Frazier was never going to coach at Indiana. The only miss from the West Virginia team that IU could have used was Hansberry, but that guy was attached to Frazier at the hip who came with him from Illinois.
  6. He is a good coach all things considered. His gimmick isn’t going to work in the B10. He’s going to be in a world of hurt next year without Stirtz. He’s a wannabe Bo Ryan on his best day and it ain’t 2014 anymore.
  7. Just be glad we didn’t hire Ben McCollum.
  8. Win or lose it’s just horrible basketball. Imagine hiring this guy after Archie/Woodson.
  9. Got to think IU dodged a bullet by not hiring McCollum. Just a brutal style of basketball to watch.
  10. In the B10, obviously. And Michigan’s 3 and 4 are 6’9, their 5 is 7’1 and one of the better rim protectors on the country.
  11. Need somebody taller than 6'8 as your starting center in this league. No chance Josh Harris starts next year, would be negligible if he did, especially after missing the entire season. I'm intrigued by Daniel Freitag and Preston Edmead as lead guards next year, both of the PG variety. Freitag is a former ~top 100 recruit who briefly played at Wisconsin as a freshman and is averaging 20 ppg and shooting 38% from 3 on volume as a sophomore at Buffalo. Edmead is averaging 15 ppg as a true freshman at Hofstra shooting 40% from 3 on a whopping 7 attempts per game. I'd imagine both will be portaling this year. I like Zion Sensley from UC-Santa Barbara as a 4 man. 6'8 with a 7'+ wing span and is freakishly athletic. Has one of the best DReb% in the country and is a 38% 3 point shooter. Need a 6'10, 6'11 banger who can rebound and block shots as your 5 man.
  12. I’d like to see a ball dominant, scoring 1 guard similar to what he had in Javon Small in his one year at West Virginia. I like what Enright has brought to the team, but think you need a guy who can manufacture offense when shots aren’t falling. I believe they thought Conerway could be that guy, but he’s wildly too inconsistent as a scorer. Get a guy like that and space the floor with Dorn and another high level shooter and things should look up. A defensive 5 is a must for next years team. Non-negotiable.
  13. Who said they weren’t?
  14. It’s the same argument. Only an idiot would fire a coach after 20 games. It’s nonsensical lol.
  15. Josh is definitely the guy who thought (and still thinks) Brad Stevens was coming to IU and couldn’t wait until DeVries lost his first game just so he could announce how incompetent the administration is for having low “standards”. Either way, it’s going to be a long and miserable 3 years at minimum for Josh as he’ll struggle in deciding to root for IU to win or continuing to double and triple down on stupidity for the sake of being right.
  16. The unlimited transfer portal had been around 3 years before Hurley won his first tournament game, so spare me this idea that Hurley suddenly got good because of that. He was given time, years actually (not 20 games), to stack recruiting classes and develop his guys while at the same time properly assessing his staff and making the necessary changes. Todd Golden would be a more appropriate example in this current climate but that ruins all narratives that one year turnarounds need to be demanded.
  17. Is that what you took away from my post? It took some staffing changes and a few stacked recruiting classes before Dan Hurley got really good at UConn. But since DeVries hasn’t done it in 24 games he needs to be gone?
  18. Right. Hence my paper tiger comment. IU would be much better than 16-8 if they had Louisville’s schedule.
  19. I watched in person as a bad IU team coached by Archie Miller beat a bad Dan Hurley team in Madison Square Garden. DeVries has looked far more impressive in year 1 at IU than Dan Hurley did in year 1 at UConn. Will DeVries become the next Dan Hurley? No clue. Dan Hurley wouldn’t have become Dan Hurley if he was fired 20 games into his first season. That I do know.
  20. We’d have a lot better record if we played in last years ACC. Louisville was a paper tiger last year.
  21. Did you see that in Hurley when he went 16-17 in the American Conference during his first year? Or the year after when they also missed the tournament?
  22. Tristen Newton was on the first title team and their 4th or 5th option on offense. He was a great player for them but nowhere close to being the only reason they won the national title that year. Dan Hurley had transfers on each of his first four teams that didn’t win a single tournament game. Dan Hurley took off at UConn when he hired Luke Murray to run his offense. Their efficiency before and after he was hired is staggering.
  23. Josh would have fired him twice by then lol
  24. Nope. Doubled down on Woodson though deserving a 4th year and completely owned it. Something tells me you aren’t that guy though.
  25. He’ll just move the goal posts and double down on next year lol
