I posted this in the other thread, but last year they played four guards 30+ minutes each and all took a ton of threes. Those guys collectively shot around 35% from distance…and they’ve upgraded the shooting at three of those spots with 40% shooters. Easy to see how PK was able to sell these guys on his vision

Just checked, they had four guards all play OVER 30 mpg last year and just upgraded a couple of those positions big-time. They’re gonna be tough.

Minutes aren’t that limited. PK could give all four of these guards 28-30 minutes by playing 3 guard lineups. Hell, the three they’ve signed are all at least 6’4” and could guard a small-ball 4 if needed. They shot a TON of threes last year

They’ve added three big-ticket dudes who shoot >40% from 3 on high volume.

I’m guessing his dis-interest in previous cycles was motivated heavily by the coach and offensive philosophy. It’s been negatively recruited against repeatedly and I’d estimate we’ve lost several guys because of it. No way to really know though of course.

Yeah he’s being very meticulous, which is 100% good. But it’s clear he wanted Conwell. Hopefully we didn’t lose him to UL because DDv didn’t want to match a 400k difference in NIL. Having a top-rated transfer class is important given he was able to achieve that last year and our empty roster. I trust him completely to not just throw $$ at “stars” like Woody. Having TDv hopefully healthy for the whole year already raises our floor—kid is obviously a helluva player.

Of all fanbases, IU fans shouldn’t be discounting tournament appearances. ISU was tourney bound if not for a historic year of bid stealers.

But DDv had Javon Small shooting 7+ 3’s a game last year. There’s film of essentially the offense he’ll be running at IU.

Remove his kid and he still brought in a really good class to WVU last year. That was centered around Javon Small though.

Get ready to blow $2M on Nijel Pack! He knows we have money to spend that nobody, to this point, wants. DDv had the sixth ranked transfer class last year at WVU. That needs to be replicated this cycle given the money we have

Maybe for some, but I’m disappointed because he’s an amazing, amazing basketball player. Compared to the guard play we saw last year, him with DDv would have been magical.
