I get that, heck we are all disappointed for the entire year. We have been let down by the players, coaching staff and the administration for not firing this clown. But once the season has transpired and fans are now not expecting much, we they play hard and compete, they think of that as a moral victory because that’s about as good as this year will get until this clown is gone. I am not for moral victories myself because we shouldn’t be thinking that this year with amount of money they spent, but some still want something to cheer about because we haven’t had much!

Well this years team and program have been such a giant disappointment, and getting blown out in many of our loses, I can see why fans look at it as a moral victory. We just played a top 10 team down to the wire, with a chance to win on their home floor. These fans need something to be happy about and hang their hat on. I am not claiming moral victory here by any stretch, but I actually thought they would get beat by 20+. Except for the excessive amount of turnovers and coaching blunders, this was the hardest we played all year and our best game. I want to know where that has been all season and I want to know where last nights Galloway has been all season. It’s like they know their backs are against the wall with their season and coach. It’s like they are fighting for both.

Seems like the family has thin skin. My sister-in-law used to work with MW’s sister and she was the same way too!

In coaching and in business that never works out! You have to have diversity on your staff whose opinions you value and matter! That’s exactly why this is a train wreck! At the beginning, the staff consisted of that with Fife and Matta, but we all know what happened there and it was because of 1 guy didnt allow it. Honestly, this hire was a long shot to work because he had no college experience and not much success in the NBA, but it may have had a slight if he would have accepted Fife and Matta in their roles and allow himself to learn and grow in that position. But MW’s enormous ego got in the way, and no one tells Mike Woodson how to coach but Mike Woodson

Finally someone who feels the way I do about Reneau. He’s a blackhole and a selfish player. I am not 100% sure but I would bet that his +/- for the year is a minus. Rice is a bad rollercoaster ride and has tried to play hero too many times when he’s not been the guy!

I think that is a question we all or someone needs to ask MW. It could be a money issue. Last night Rice was in the game at the end because Leal fouled out.

I can understand your points, and they are all valid. However, I feel that by not moving on from him, every time he shows mediocrity and/or poor performance, and nothing about his future is addressed, it is communicating that it is acceptable. This is what I feel continues to damage the brand. When IU hires the next coach, it will be interesting if high expectations are talked about in the press conference....because right now, those high expectations are not being showing in the lack of communication with how this will end. I think they need to announce that he will be done at seasons end regardless of his feelings on it. If he doesn't like it and walks away before that, so be it.... This is what they should do, but instead of doing the right thing, they are doing for the wrong reasons to save a basketball legends legacy, IMO. If that is truly the reason, I say F that, he hasn’t showed he actually cares about IU like he said he did. If he did, he would of stepped down already or at least make the announcement himself about retirement

It was the Illinois game. The potential in this team is why I would have liked to have seen them fire Woodson after the Illinois game but here we are talking about potential

Spot on! The are the best team athletic ability wise that money can buy, but all those other things they lack in, bring them back to the pack and don’t forget about poor coaching, it definitely played a role in this

I agree! Ballo showed some fire and it was directed at the correct guy. Rice is a selfish player and took and ill-advised shot with the game on the line. He had a hot Mgbako open in the corner, or at least drive it all the way to basket. Other than those 20 turnovers that killed us, this was the best and hardest played game they have played all year. I honestly that tonight we were the better team, personnel wise, but we weren’t better coached. Too many miscues, especially down the stretch cost us this game and that comes down to coaching.

I agree and Reneau sucks! For some reason though there are people on this board thinks the new coach should keep Reneau. He should only come off the bench to give Ballo a rest
