  1. Will be working a fish fry in a couple of hours. Our fryer tent usually has a cooler of beer. we talk about having “beer battered fish”, but usually the cooks end up more beer battered than the filets do.
  2. Hey, you can’t drink all day if you don’t start early!
  3. The line about Jackie Gleason in the SI story still makes me laugh to this day.
  4. Do we know who pulled the fire alarm?
  5. That might what he says publicly, but the actual plan may be quite different.
  6. If the board wasn’t happy then - and with what has transpired this year - you would have to believe that they would be pissed now. That’s why in my gut I don’t see any way possible he comes back next year.
  7. They had basically the entire 76, plus Steve Green - who was as good as scorer as May - at forward, and John Laskowski as 6th man off the bench (Super Sub). I wore #31 when I played (not long) because of Laz. He could sub in at guard, forward, and even sometimes as center.
  8. Should’ve kept my mouth shut, huh?
  9. My luck 400 people from this forum will show up
  10. I went to a weekend at my wife’s Uncle lake house in 2015 about an hour south of Louisville. Big UK/Louisville fans, and of course they were blowing me sh!t about the state of IU basketball. I promptly turned, went into the house . . . everyone thought I was mad - until I came back out wearing this: https://images.app.goo.gl/mCNn1GiqArNMmH4h9 Then we turned the discussion to hookers . . . what do you know, everyone all of a sudden was talking about ski boats! Lol
  11. I’m in too - and I’ll buy a round of beer.
  12. When did we start rooting for Kentucky?
  13. Saw Brody play in the 2000 state finals against LCC. Dude was within range the minute he crossed the half court line
  14. Sorry, that’s fair. I understand the angst with Woodson the coach. I have it as well. But as much as you can hammer him for his coaching ability, if you ever saw what he did on the court as a player, how much he sacrificed his senior year, you would have to give him his props. As I said, I hope that we can somehow move on from his coaching era but still be able to recognize him for the IU legend that he is.
  15. This is the guy I was thinking of, he coached nearby at Blue River Valley before getting the A.D. job at Randolph Southern. https://www.pal-item.com/story/sports/high-school/2017/08/15/hallatt-hopes-help-another-small-school-randolph-southern/567611001/
  16. I hope that you are right. Here’s the deal: I love Woody. Any true IU fan that tells you different isn’t really an IU fan. That dude came back from back surgery in December 1979 to help us win a Big 10 title and I know that he cares about the program. But as much as you love the dude as a player, sadly he just hasn’t been the answer as a coach. I sincerely hope he recognizes that and steps aside so we can still honor Him for the good that he’s done over the years for the university.
  17. Not too long ago, I re-watched the game with Maryland from the 81 tournament. Total domination.. I’ll never forget the line in the Sports Illustrated article: “after sporting Maryland an 8-0 lead (like Renaldo Nehemiah giving Jackie Gleason a few hurdles head start)”. ROFLMFAO!!
