We had hit rock bottom and were talking about mid-major guys like Brad Brownell at Wright State. Crean was a huge get at that time and I don't remember a single rumor until someone tracked a plane to Milwaukee. Archie was a regular CBB search where the P5 school hired the hot mid-major guy. And Archie was on everyone list of candidates. Hope that sums it all up.

What I don't want to happen is to hire a retread like Brownell. He was an up-and-comer during the Archie Miller search. he got his chance and has been average at best. You have to either get the sure thing or take a swing. No in-between.

People are just having a bit of fun, given the complete absence of any information or even credible rumors. An AD or GM running a tight ship has many advantages, but for us fans it does lead to frustration and idle speculation.
