  1. The people who have been posting what they have been hearing have been around for years and are not some "johnny come lately" *cough*. Who knows what will ultimately happen with the coaching search, but you seem to be making it personal.
  2. That sucks that certain people seem to want to blame the messenger for anything they don't want to hear. I do think that most of us appreciate all you share and realize you (and others who happen to have inside knowledge of the goings on) are doing so out of kindness. Just know that most of us appreciate what you do and thank you for all the information you (and others) provide.
  3. With the preface that I don't believe almost anything coming out...if this is true Dolson better have a "home run" lined up and not just take a huge gamble on an "IU guy".
  4. My "I would be happy list" has stayed relatively consistent this entire search. Brad Drew/Beard/Musselman (I did move him up a bit after watching his teams play more) Oats (I didn't list him initially because with his buyout I don't think IU would pony up that much after buying out Archie) Any of these hires would have me excited for IU hoops.
  5. Apologies if I missed it, but has he said anything new or still just saying Saturday?
  6. I was also including Musselman's NCAA coaching as well as NBA.
  7. Beard and Drew would be my top two. I would be good with Musselman. I do not want Alford. I respect your posts/opinions. We can agree to disagree on Woodson.
  8. Musselman has NBA experience as well. I never said a peep about Oats. I would like Chris Beard though.
  9. They are not in their first year coaching at that school. Coming soon?....IU recruiting:
  10. I agree I will support the coach and give him a fair shake whoever is hired. However, I think that if Woodson doesn't cut it in 5 years IU will be in worse shape than it is now. There is no sure fire slam dunk hires, but I believe a proven P5 coach is the least likely to fail. I think we all agree we don't want to be back here in 4-5 years with another coaching search. I also am not limiting myself to one specific candidate, but I want someone with a proven college record.
  11. Recruits who might not think he will be coaching in 3-4 years down the line because he is old?
  12. I don't think Mike Woodson is going to generate the excitement in the fan base or recruits. I also believe IU needs to have a proven P5 coach with less risk at this point and time. I am on record as not thinking any of the "IU guys" are in a position to take over this program currently. IF Dolson goes hard after Beard, Muss, Drew, etc. and strikes out on all of them I might understand a Mike Woodson type hire. However, if he is not talking to all of those guys first I think this is a big mistake. One other thing to think about...what happens in 3-4 years if Mike Woodson is not cutting it? Will Dolson have more pressure to fire an "IU guy" than an Archie Miller?
  13. Exactly. Mike Woodson and Dane Fife etc. would come if they are the first pick or the seventeenth pick. IU needs to swing for the fences before it settles.
  14. Do you believe Dolson had a backup plan all along for Stevens?
  15. Women are routing VCU right now...chatter will probably start back up tonight/tomorrow.
  16. IU wouldn't have to pay him very much.
  17. Back channeling and negotiations amongst agents/schools just doesn't stop because the tourney is going on. I don't think anybody expects a major announcement from the national media, but I'm sure people are still talking behind the scene.
  18. Things have indeed gotten eerily quiet.
  19. You're making me hungry with that post.
