    Bird is the reason PG/West/Hibberts teams never made it past the ECF, they needed one more player and had the approval of the owners to do so but decided against it. And he's the reason PG left the Pacers due to not building a team around him . Bird is on my **** list.

    Beilein gets us back to winning right away and when the time comes for him to step down for retirement we'll be back to consistent NCAA tourney appearances, competitive nightly in conference play and no more 1st rd exits in the Big Ten tourney. At this point you'll have a lot more coaches wanting to take over as the dirty work has been done behind the scenes to get us back towards the glory days.

    A familiar face. after watching the presser I agree 100%, he’s definitely entertaining this time around. I’ve watched/listened to a few clips today of Brad doing interviews and they’ve been a little different each time. The decision is wearing on him. Keep pushing SD!

    agree 100%. Unless you feel very confident you either have your guy or you have a very strong small pool of guys you don't make this move because you then are at risk for doing the same thing in four more years.

    Brad Stevens was on NBC Sports Boston a few moments ago via Twitter(@NBCSCeltics is their handle name) and said he's not quitting his current job to come to IU. Obviously he won't say that on air but he's shooting it down publicly which I would expect.

    Billingsley is top notch to interact with on HSN. I for one would be fine with any of those three you mentioned. Beilein I'd imagine they'd have a plan to bring someone to sit behind him and take over in 5 to 7 years given his age.

    As far as recruiting and transfers go, IU needs to make a decision within a week or two for the next coach. It will be crucial for any incoming coach to speak with the current players, next years commit(2021), the following years commit(2022) and any transfers that they may bring with them or that they may want.
