... I agree with both of you, to a degree. Race is an important part of the team, don't think anyone is disputing that. The team's ceiling, IMO, seems higher when Geronimo/Reneau play big minutes (~18-24) That doesn't mean Race shouldn't be playing at all or getting the minutes he is right now, at this moment in time. But, if we're commenting as fans after watching these past few games, I think it's fair to speculate about the best lineup that gives us a chance to win in March. Reneau seems to be getting a better grip on his foul trouble (still needs his Coach obviously). Geronimo had some solid performances before his injury, if he can find some consistency when he returns, that would be huge for us (maybe unlikely, sure). Point being, I don't think anyone was implying Woodson needs input from us on who to play in any given game. But as fans, should we not be able to speculate as to what we think would need to happen for us to go deeper come March? I think what's being discounted in this conversation is the assumption Reneau/Geronimo continue to improve to the point of earning those minutes away from Race. Maybe they haven't done that yet (don't dispute that). But do I think we'll be more than a S16 team with Race playing the bulk of the time at the 4 unless his knee and decision making both show serious improvement? No. Not trying to say Race doesn't have a big role to play come March, but Reneau particularly has shown a lot of promising stuff. Hopefully he keeps it up and wins the trust to play bigger minutes. It won't be anyone's fault if he doesn't (or at least we probably won't know enough to fairly assign blame). At this point I trust Woodson to put the team in the best position to win. ...but I do reserve the right to have an opinion. Lol

Sorry, I'm playing a little bit of catch up recruiting wise. In terms of the scholarship for next year, are we technically full with Newton and Cupps? I know it seems likely Duncomb may transfer, so that would potentially give us one more? Would love to see us pick up a transfer big in the offseason, seems the roster will be very small next year unless I'm missing something. Anyone in 2023 we're still keeping an eye on or is 2024 the main focus by this time of year?

What lineup do you feel most confident having in the rotation? For me, PG: JHS SG: Galloway SF: Kopp (controversial take to some I suppose) PF: Reneau C: TJD (God we are going to miss him so much) I also think you can swap Bates in for Gallo depending on the night. I hope that we continue seeing more Banks/Geronimo and Race plays more of a reduced role. Based on a few of Woody's reactions tonight, I'd like to see him play closer to 15 mins a game (if that). Don't think you can understate how much of a game-changer it will be to have XJ back in the lineup (if he isn't too rusty). Not sure what to make of his timeline, but would be great for him to get some light run before the BTT. This team has a really high ceiling IMO if the timing works out health/chemistry wise. Of course, not invincible. But games like tonight give me more confidence in our ability to grind out close ones. I'd like to see us do that at PUewww before I get too hopeful lol

Hopefully not in it yet. Keep the guys hungry. Also more embarrassing for Purdue when we beat them this week

Don't know much about his timetable, but would love to see him return for the Purdue game in a limited role. Still feels pretty early to me though based on the limited info we do have. 6-8 weeks post surgery would be just a few games left in the B10 schedule

Honestly don't care for the Purdue uniforms. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad... just don't wow me. Maybe I can't get past their bland colors/boring brand and logo/stupid faces

Would love to see us get Edey into early foul trouble when we play them this week. Have to say, though, doesn't seem like he's been racking up too many fouls this year. Hope we don't see our front court pick up a few quick ones.

A lot to clean up after that performance. Really hoping Woodson is back with us sooner than later. And that TJD's back continues to hold up. Would love to get a timetable for XJ's return - think JHS would be even better if he could alternate ballhandling responsibilities. Impressed by Galloway, he does the little things really well. Race is frustrating to me, but undeniably has a huge role on this team. The fact we pulled this win out - despite the coaching and poor shooting - is encouraging. Thats the silver lining to me (for having lost sleep to watch that mess)

Indiana always plays down to the level of competition. Tonight has been downright ugly. Find a way to win and move on kind of game. Coaching certainly didn't help tonight - Malik and Geronimo combined for 3 minutes in the second half and MR was off to a hot start in the first half. Looking forward to having Woodson back.
