Everyone knows it ain't lasting very long. Not at his age. Unless things are rolling and he's got Indiana back into being a Top 10-20 program, killing recruiting, winning a couple B1G titles, making runs in the NCAAs... No reason to see him past his original deal. Not sure what his buyouts look like, but Indiana should absolutely have the next plan in place and no way Woody doesn't know that or understand that.

I'd actually say coaching overall has went down since 20 years ago... But that's just me. Been a lot of greats retire.

Ummm... Yes. It's not a "you suck, get out" conversation. It's "hey, if the next guy is there for the taking, we are going to need you to understand if moves are made. We need you to put university and this program above yourself." It should have been made clear whether it be 3, 4, 5 or 6 years. Woody was here to stabilize and connect past/present. That's it. Anything more is great but that's why he was brought in. But Indiana can't be thinking short term of 1 or two years down the road, they need to be thinking 5+ down the road. Indiana has screwed themselves on "being the nice guy" in this century too many times. No way Pitino didn't have interest in the job but nope, gotta stick with Davis. Sampson? Nah just throw yourself into the abyss, no need for any help. We were bad so we will jump. Crean? Should have been fired after year 3 and hired Stevens. Archie? Probably should have been fired after year 2 or 3. But Indiana loves being nice and mediocre.

There would have to be a conversation and no way there wasn't one before he was hired unless Dolson was that incompetent at the time. It should have been a point going into his tenure that he's a short time solution to scout the next guy.

No need for an ugly divorce. Indiana has to make moves that suit it best down the road. Not what suits Woodson best for the next few years.
