What happened to the defense we’ve been seeing the past 5 games?

I expect him to struggle a bit as we go into conference but I’ll be surprised if he isn’t the first PG off the bench before the end of the season. I know some people favor Phinisee’s defense but the offense dies when he’s on the floor and we still don’t shoot well enough to dig ourselves out of a hole. I think Lander’s offense ultimately wins out.

Come on now…Illinois beat Jackson State by 24 with Curbelo, Frazier, and Cockburn inactive. Louisiana Tech’s 3 wins are Jackson State (293 Kenpom), Northwestern State (341 Kenpom), and some NAIA school called Jarvis Christian. Their loss was a 30 point drubbing by Alabama. I always love a win, but we played a terrible team tonight.

I don’t think it’s a Damezi situation at all. Lander has all the tools to be a really good point guard, and you can see he’s starting to figure out the college game. His knowledge, confidence, and body are going to catch up with his talent and he’ll be a handful. I’m excited for the rest of this season, but I can’t wait to see next year’s Lander/Bates/Hood-Schifino lineup. If Woodson can talk TJD into coming back (which I doubt), I think we’re in the NC discussion.

On one hand, I like what I’m seeing. On the other, Jackson State is one of the worst teams I’ve seen in quite some time.
