To be honest, I know a little about Archie Miller so if you don't mind a couple questions: Are we gonna see that stupid weave and kick offense or something along those lines? Can he teach a F$&%€£# entry pass!? Can he coach against a zone? Defense wise, man or zone? Fast pace or slow down?

I am "let's get an Indiana guy" guy, but hiring Woodson (or Wittman) for that matter would be a mistake. Glass was gonna wait until UCLA lost, plain and simple. Whether you liked it or not, IMO that has been the plan all along. Reading between the lines, he wanted Alford. Now, if I read posts of a cousin of a friend knows a guy that makes real estate signs says this guy at Yogis said that Billy Donovan's ex sister in laws best friend is in town scouting houses, I might tend to believe it more. Lets the the games begin!

Come on guys, gotta laugh a little. Only way we're gonna get thru this.

I don't understand the problem with you anti Alford people. Worst case scenario: he wins the national championship and you have to admit you were wrong, but have a national championship. Best case: he fails miserably and you get to gloat. Sounds like a win/win to me.

This was my point the other day. It's how the internet, and life really, works. People will believe a unsubstantiated rumor from a fifth party over possibly the truth as long as it's what they want to believe. I have fallen for this trap before. Being the huge Van Halen fan I am, anyone says "new album with Dave! I have contacts!" I start salivating. Human nature. We want to believe what we want to believe.

I'm an old and I remember when Knight was fired and some on Peegs were reporting that Alford was talking to Greenspan on his cell phone in the parking lot right before his coaches show started. These rumors are fun to listen to but they are just rumors. Gotta take them with a grade of salt. I have faith that Glass will get the best guy available because he knows his job is on the line. I want Donovan but I still think it's Alford's if he wants it.

This is kinda funny. Earlier this afternoon Jeff Goldman was getting destroyed on this very board. Now, he speaks the word the word of God. The majority of us are to emotionaly invested in this to think straight (and I mean we as in me too). A reporter from a somewhat legit website reported there is a deal with the guy no one likes and he's a idiot and it ain't happening. A guy who knows a guy in the AD knows a real estate agent says it's so, well it's a done deal. These guys aren't smart enough for secret deals and big conspiracies. Can't get too up, can't get too down. No one will prob be named before the Final Four. Just a guess. Patience my young padawans.

Let me clear, I'm not necessarily saying Alford is they guy I want and I am NOT saying he is the savior of IU basketball. We all know his warts and it isn't pretty. I just gave my opinion of what I believe will happen from what I heard Glass said. He became giddy as a school girl when the phrase Indiana guy was mentioned. That points to one guy, again, in my opinion.

Hey guys, long time no complain here. FWIW Like it or not Alford is the front runner. Because: Stevens- leaving the Celtics to coach IU would be like leaving Man U to manage Sporting Kansas City. Not happening. Donovan - good hire but Glass mentioned knowing the state and recruiting the area. Donovan is an east coast guy. Can happen but reading between the lines doesn't have exactly what Glass is looking for. Bennett - more likely but I hope not. Boring as crap to watch Virginia. Marshall - verbally abusive version of Crean. Sean Miller - ain't leaving Arizona for February in Bloomington. Has it made. Archie Miller - will someone PLEASE explain the fascination with this guy. He doesn't even have the pedigree Crean had. This would be a huge disaster. IMO that leaves Alford. I say hire him. I think he can do better at IU than he did at other places. HS and AAU coaches around the state are familiar with him. He understands the culture. Once again if you read between the lines sounds like to me Glass was describing him. Is he the savior? Nope. Heck, he will be gone within 5 years, but I just cant handle another hot mid major guy. Alford is comfortable like an old pair of shoes. Ok, destroy me now.

Really? That's cool. I have been tempted to buy that game hundreds of times, just couldn't pull the trigger. That is good to know.

Not to brag but it really is. It's my dream guitar. Ever since I saw the cover of VHII I had to have it. The unfinished neck is like butter. Plays great, sounds better!

I have a 97 American Standard. Really love playing that one.
