I’m surprised no one is trying to grab up Jon Scheyer. I think he will end up being a good coach. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
Joe DeLow replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It’s almost comparable. We get a stud point guard(Rob and Yogi). A big guy that is playable(Thompson and Hanner). A wing that fizzles out(Anderson and Hollowell). A big that didn’t really even play(Forrester and Jurkin). And a guy that never even played at IU(Hunter and Patterson). Romeo is the outlier and it is debatable how much we ended up getting out of him outside of some good highlights and glimpses of what he can do on both ends of the court. This class didn’t have the hype around everyone, but the situations are comparable enough. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Recruiting Expectations vs Winning Expecations vs Reality
Joe DeLow replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I am honestly tired of recruiting so many kids who are "too cool" to show any emotion. We need size and energy I think. I dont think Archie is a good offensive coach so might as well play to the strengths of defense and size and energy help. Archie loves guys in the 6-6 to 6-8 range. I think getting guys who will be passionate about playing for IU, kids that will fight for rebounds/loose balls and then a couple kids that can shoot. We need at least two token shooters and a good big man. I want some Lance Stephensons and Zions(intensity wise). Im tired of guys like Justin Smith who just go through the motions, which seemed to be what our entire team did. I think we can do that with kids in the Top 150. -

He looked good during the scrimmage. Aggressive offensive player. -

And? Doesn't mean you shouldn't see a glimpse of a good player. Romeo was good but a one year rent. Rob looks to be a poor mans Yogi and we can use that, he'll end up giving the absolute most from the class. Hard to say on Thompson but he showed effort and hustle. Looked better than Jake. Should end up a good rotation guy. Kenny Goins type? Anderson showed he doesn't belong in the Big Ten. And again, I won't include Hunter until it is said he will play. -

He may have been apart of the class, but if he never plays, it wont be counted against Archie like an Anderson would be. As of now Jerome is just there waiting. Would player-coach be better than manager? Realistically, he is not part of future plans until it is said he's healthy enough to play. So no reason to include him. When he plays, he will be judged with that class. -

No one is saying he isn’t good or wouldn’t help. But as of now, it’s best to not include him until we know if he’ll ever play. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

And he’s never played a game and no one knows if he’ll ever play in a game. So again, he’s basically a manager. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Archie’s first class was Romeo, Rob, Anderson, Forrester and Thompson. Romeo is leaving. Forrester is now leaving. Anderson on the fence and didn’t play much. Thompson didn’t play much. So far, this class isn’t giving us much. The Movement 2.0. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Don’t count on it. Better chance he doesn’t play for IU as of right now. Could change though if he makes some big progress over the summer. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
