  1. Scholarships have always technically been year to year, but to yank a player in good standing's scholarship when he didn't agree to leave would be committing recruiting suicide.
  2. If you are talking about the commitment to pay for any players 4 yr education even after they have left the school, that's true. The interesting dynamic is how it would play out and the optics if a player said I am taking myself out of the portal and Woodson said, not so fast.
  3. Question about the transfer portal. The players that enter it do they control that scholarship until they transfer or can the school use it and fill the spot and tell them returning is no longer an option?
  4. my guess on transfers is just Al Drurham. #calleit
  5. This is the part I have issue with. Would IU have a chance with a 25 yr NBA, 2X NBA HC if he didn't want IU to ties to IU and wanted them to succeed? Who needs who more?
  6. Not saying I take Woodson over Brad, but a reluctant Brad over eager Mike is a tougher call.
  7. What coming to grips with reality looks like over 4 hours..
  8. Liked. Just gotta respect the Me So Hornsby. Makes me wanna be a Hornsby.
  9. If you were coming to IU to play for Archie Miller, this is like signing up for the SAT and showing up and it's actually an Artic Monkeys concert.
  10. Jeff Goodman, we don't know each other, but go F%^k yourself
  11. IU guy was never my big thing, but tell me that doesn't give you chills.
  12. I am sticking with my Assoc AD avatar until it can be improved on.
  13. I disagree. The question will be posed and avoided. Most know it would be a lie. But beyond Stevens, I think it is murky at best.
  14. Another thing, I am pretty optimistic about the Woodson/Matta/asst(recruiters) dynamic they are setting up, but if at 3 yrs in it is not going well, I see Woodson as a guy that would gracefully step down. This dude is doing this 75% because he wants IU to be his IU, and 25% $$. If he saw that he wasn't the guy, I think he would walk away if requested.
  15. Unfortunately, he is yet to understand that Woodson is old and no one knows who he is and Matta is cripled and 4 yrs removed form college BB... yet.
  16. Maybe not Al but I think he sees his position as diminishing, so NBD. As a side my son always quotes Frozone when he sees Al's pointy chin. Cracks me up every time:
  17. And byB1G contacts, he meant his frat bros as OSU
  18. I'm pretty sure you are the one that is confused.
  19. If you can coach that guy, you can coach anyone.
  20. Hunter and Lewis would be my choices. Hopefully CMW lft some meat on the table to pay asst's handsomely.
  21. So as an IU guy in the transfer portal. You hear that an ex-Hoosier, which has 25 yrs of NBA coaching experience and a HOF level college coach is now ADBO replacing your failed previous mid major HC, how is this not a positive that you come Racing back to? Pun intended
  22. As to #3 I agree to a degree. IU is a lot of expectations with little positive momentum making it less attractive, but I think the days of UK, Duke, UNC just plucking anyone are gone. Does Beard take Duke over Texas? Does Oates leave Bama for UNC? I don't thik so. The money at these programs will be there to retain a good coach. Name me a coach that left a successful P5 program for a blueblood without connection in the last 2 decades.
