  1. Fisch weighs in on D-Rock. (Has he undergone some implant work? LOL). https://www.wane.com/video/voice-of-the-hoosiers-don-fischer-goes-1-on-1-with-wanes-glenn-marini-on-the-hiring-of-iu-basketball-coach-darian-devries/10553547/
  2. Not true. After the Celtics won the NBA title last season, he was asked if he were proud of the team. He said yes.
  3. We have some smart kids ...
  4. I asked the same question earlier -- because I heard it both ways. it's just like the name "Darren" I think the "I" in his first name -- though silent -- stands for Indiana! LOL. (Why the pronouncation of his name makes me laugh is some dude went on a profane rant about D-Rock leaving WVU -- it's in this thread soemwhere. He kept calling him "Dare -- ee -- in." ... Now, I'm thinking -- Dude, if you don't even know his name, you've no right to be so huffy!)
  5. Know the news has been posted. But here's a nice visual.
  6. I hope someone asks when/if he'll meet with the current team and how long it'll take to evaluate who might stay/who might go.
  7. Dolson just mentioned "the process." KathyC's influence, obviously!
  8. Definitely -- going into the portal doesn't absolutely mean one is leaving. But maybe I'm reading too much into it, when he (or his agent) said "I will miss the fans and all the great people in Bloomington" -- that led me to believe his mind is made up.
  9. I would assume B1G Network will have it. Also probably will be streamed somewhere on YouTube.
  10. So I keep hearing D-Rock's first name two ways: Dare - ee -- in (the "I" in Darian is pronounced) or Dare-in (like the traditional Darren) Anybody know for sure?
  11. I figured Hansbrough would spew the narrative that UNC's big win last night means they belong. To me, that's pure horsecrap. UNC's big win just means they won a game. It doesn't justify them getting a bid they didn't deserve. ... And TBH, I'm not sure either he or Childress really know all that much about IU basketball. I'll give Goodman a little credit because he follows IU more closely -- probably aided by his daughter's presence there. But man, that dude comes off as really arrogant. "I think I've made my feelings on Buzz Williams known." Oh, you did? Sorry I missed that. I guess I'm one of the few who don't hang on your every word. Still cracks me up that in the earlier video, he says of his meeting with Dolson shortly after the news of Woody's "retirement" came out: "I told him T.J. Otzelberger was the guy I thought they should go after." I'm sure as soon as Goodman left that meeting, Scott buzzed his secretary and said, "Get me T.J. Otzelberger's agent on the line."
  12. I believe it's at 11:30 this morning.
  13. Loving how UNC fans are saying this win proves they belong. It just proves you were better than San Diego State. You could've won by 100 points -- that still doesn't necessarily mean you deserved an NCAA bid.
  14. Good chat w/ Doug McDermott on The Field of 68 about "D-Rock" -- as those of us in the know call him. LOL. But I had to chuckle at Goodman visiting his daughter at IU and meeting with Dolson while he's there -- and offering his opinion on whom to hire. Because, you know, that's a journalist's job. Dolson, back in February: "Before I get too far into this search and start reaching out to candidates, I need to hear what Goodman thinks ..."
  15. Malik is portaling. Sounds as if his mind is made up to leave ...
  16. SIAP ... McDermott speaks ... https://x.com/ByJonWalker/status/1902143202829680728
  17. If you don't want to believe Woodson's hire was forced by Quinn Buckner and his buddies, that's fine. Definitely your prerogative.
  18. That's from many sources.
  19. You do realize his hand was kinda forced with Woodson, right? I sorta feel like we've been over this many, many, many times.
  20. I grew up in Indiana. I went to sectionals and regionals with my dad every year from the time I was about 5 years old till I was in high school. He was a high school coach, then AD (in fact, his school's very first AD). Love Indiana basketball and IU basketball. My mom went to IU and though I was just a young lad, I remember her crying tears of joy when the 1976 team finished its unbeaten season by beating Michigan. Got my degree from IU in 1991. I'll love IU basketball (and all IU sports) till they put me in the grave. I don't understand these people who say "I'm out" or "I'm done" just because we hired a coach and they don't agree with it. If you wanna be out or done -- see ya. Hit the bricks. Coach DeVries wasn't necessarily my first choice, but I'm all on board. Can't wait till next season. GO HOOSIERS!
  21. Turned on the B1G Network to see if they were saying anything about our new hoops coach. They're airing an old Kansas-Illinois NCAA game. The announcers? Dick Enberg and Bill Walton ...
  22. As they say -- it's official! https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2025/3/18/mens-basketball-darian-devries-named-31st-head-coach-of-iu-mens-basketball-program
  23. Goodman weighs in .. https://x.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1902114236223914142
