  1. Maybe the PUs will fire Versyp and hire Moren. We're due $10 M in that case. ... LOL!
  2. Our offense seems to be two components: Scoring from right near the bucket (putbacks, layups, 6-foot shots) or taking 3-point shots (which nearly always miss). I only recall a couple times yesterday us making a mid-range jumper: Devonte made one from just beyond the FT line and I think I remember Justin making a 10- to 12-footer. There might have been more, but I don't remember. I stopped watching with about 8 minutes left because I was so disgusted. Do they not work at all on shooting off the dribble? Or catching and shooting? I've lost count of the number of times Al has driven to the hoop and literally just fling it up there and hope it goes in. He's not even shooting the ball. He might as well be closing his eyes. Can't he drive hard to the bucket, hit the brakes from 10 to 15 feet away and stop and pop? And Rob looked really tentative yesterday. He's good at getting to the bucket, but not always good at finishing because of his size. But yesterday, he didn't even do that. Why not -- like I said with Al -- drive hard, stop about 8 or 10 feet away and shoot a short jumper. Not only do we suck from the 3-point line; we can't even hit a 15- or 20- footer. And I don't know if it's because of a lack of confidence, but we're really not even looking to shoot any. Heck, if I were coaching against us, I'd just start the five biggest guys and pack in a tight zone. You take TJD and Brunk away and since we can't make anything more than a layup, we might not hit 30 points for the game.
  3. The title of this thread is "Our bad shooters continue to dominate our shooting" The problem is that we don't have any good shooters. If our bad shooters didn't shoot, nobody ever would. Maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing ... LOL!
  4. BTW, FSU is laying the wood to U of 6 at the Dum! Center. We poleaxed FSU. Maybe we're not that bad ...
  5. All I know is this ... We should NEVER get beaten that bad by another B1G team. NEVER. And I'm not convinced Maryland is that good. What disappoints me about today is with about seven or eight minutes to go, these guys quit. I hate to say that, but they did. There was no effort, no heart, no emotion. I can't figure if they don't like Archie -- and that's being reflected in attitude and effort -- or it's just a laggard bunch. Either way, today was bad. Really bad. I didn't think anything could get worse than our performance against OSU in the tourney last year. An NCAA bid was there for the taking and we didn't show up -- until there were about three minutes left. Man, today was awful.
  6. I gotta channel my inner Jim Mora here. A while back, I was wondering if we'd make the NCAAs this season. Now -- honestly -- I'm wondering if we'll win another game.
  7. At this point, I would just let the walk-ons play. Everybody else has quit.
  8. Anthony Grant ... He's probably like Archie -- mid-major is his level. ... He was great at VCU, then totally flamed out at Alabama ... Now he's doing well again at Dayton. I think some people just have their level and should stick with it.
  9. Except for Brunk, they all just look disinterested.
  10. Do we have anybody we can bring up from the JV to give us a spark???
  11. Why is #4 not on the floor?
  12. Right now, there is not one player on the floor who can score. We only have about three anyway, so shouldn't at least one of them be playing?
  13. If it's not a runner or a layup or a putback, we cannot score. It's almost comical that nobody on this team can shoot from more than 10 feet.
  14. Dude just blew past Al as if he were standing still. Oh wait -- he was standing still.
  15. TJD has three shots. That makes no damn sense. A couple times, it was on him -- once, he started working toward the bucket, then inexplicably kicked it back out; on another, he started moving toward the hoop, inexplicably stopped, then traveled. But I don't recall him getting more than a half-dozen touches anyway. He's got to get the ball.
  16. Looked to me like Ayala walked before he got fouled.
  17. Was just thinking that ... He's taken 1 shot and passed up what seem to be good opportunities to take shots or try to create shots. He's driven into the lane two or three times, and when I think he's either gonna continue on to the bucket or pull up for a teardrop or a 10-footer, he passes off or kicks it back out. He doesn't look very confident at all.
  18. What was Race doing there? ... Why did he drop behind the screener? ... If he stays on his man, that layup doesn't happen.
  19. 13 games into the season we're still not valuing the ball. Franklin nearly loses it with a lazy dribble and Damezi just holds it out in front of him for the defender to steal. BE STRONG WITH THE BALL. VALUE EVERY POSSESSION!
  20. Poor De'Ron. He can't get off the floor more than a couple inches.
  21. Great work by Joey down low, but man -- he's gotta make that bunny.
  22. Al doesn't even really shoot the ball. He just drives to the basket, flings it up and hopes it goes in.
  23. I was working last night, but was watching as much as I could. This morning, I was able to check out the replay, and now I know exactly what happened and what went wrong: It's Archie's fault.
