Well I think the first offer was more years and top 3 of highest paid coaches, counter was highest paid by a lot but a few years less. Few other things like that. Just everyday things. But after all that was agreed to it's more on their end now.

I can’t answer that on his side. Two years of high school left for their daughter could be something. The sale of the Celtics could be something. But I keep coming back to him not signing an extension and his contract being up soon. Also that he misses coaching.

I think it’s been relayed that we would meet any needs he might have. Just about getting pen to paper on our end.

As the day goes by the more I learn his the post this morning is way off. Is Brad Stevens coming to IU? No. Has he said no for sure? No he hasn’t. I think there are some things both sides are trying to get worked out. I think IU side feels like they can get it done.

I would also say that the NIL era fits him even better.

Dusty came to town last offseason to see family and he came to campus for a visit. I’ll leave it at that. It doesn’t really matter since he signed the extension.

One observation I’ve made and it’s probably because of 4 years ago but when someone makes a Stevens is out post like Sam made earlier it believed a lot more than when RTZ makes a Stevens to IU post. RTZ has been right many more times than Sam in recent years. Sam had most of his info during the Crean years. Also on a side note my DM’s pick way up with the Stevens not coming than the Stevens is coming. Just some quick thoughts.

Well from hindsight I'm guessing if it didn't happen after that Purdue win his supporters would be saying one more year. But I don't know for sure the reasoning behind it.

The one thing I have never been told most likely is because it hasn't happened nothing has been signed. Maybe agreed to but not signed. Not sure what happened after that. I don't like verbal agreements

One thing I will say and agree with Rabby on is if it's a college coach the expectations for me in year 1 won't be as high as normal. The reason why is the portal is opening earlier and the time for it being opened is shorter. So if we hire a coach who makes it to the elite 8 he won't have as much time as others. I don't know just trying to be realistic.
