(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
Chris007 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I know I have used the word cancers and it might be a little strong but I can tell you they are bringing the team down with their attitudes. They are not good teammates and are definitely all about themselves. They only thing they like about team is the letters M E -
I do not but IMO I just don't see him being this level of a player. I know it's too soon and others don't like me saying it but I think he was a bad evaluation on the coaches part.
-
I don't think your alone in that thinking
-
He made two big mistakes, he kept Pitino too long and hire Petrino.
-
No you have it exactly right except that Green was told to go sit by those two as soon as he came out and ignored them. That is when Schilling grabbed him and made him do it.

OK I did my own research and you are 100% correct since he didn't play he will have 3 years of eligibility left. Thank you for correcting me. -

I could be mistaken but I thought he started out at Bellermine or someone like that, then went to Juco. Someone hopefully will correct me if I'm wrong. -

I'm just worried that we're getting on him too late. But two seasons of this kid couldn't hurt. -
I think this and Hoosier Trav's post are the two best I've read in a while on here. I didn't want to quote both long posts together so I made two posts instead.

Yeah I don't think he wants to not play them, then people ask why and he has to answer because they are cancers. I think you wait till the end of the season, ask them to move on in private
-
I'm going to be speaking to one of the people involved soon, going to ask about it if I can or if their willing to share
-
No, but had a close friend sitting right behind the bench tell me all about it this morning. I did see Green on TV get taken out early after a bad turnover and seemed to be jumping up down high fiving all of his teammates. I asked my friend about it, he said he was mocking the instructions of shaking everyone's hand when you come out. Also said they told him to sit between two coaches and he refused until Schilling grabbed him and put him in that seat.

I do know that Davis and Green are tight. But can't believe Davis would throw everything away to leave with Green.
-
I really don't think they have been really coached. Always been the guy, and now we're finding out they can't handle not being the guy. How many bunnies did Smith miss last night? It's not like either guy is irreplaceable.
-
I've tried not to say anything about them but when they showed the disrespect in public last night, they deserve anything they get.
-
IMO they have to play out of necessity for us to have a chance to win. Neither started the game. But at the end of the year, you show them the door. I guess now that NCAA chances are gone you don't have to play them. I would have had Davis in at the end to guard Haarms instead of Morgan just to match big vs big guy. Then moved Morgan to someone else and Smith out.
-
But he will be gone at the end of the year. He makes a terrible turnover last night, gets taken out, then argues with the coaches for 5 minutes that they are all wrong and he is right. Smith didn't argue, he threw a towel, and refused to look or listen to the coaches. They might have to play this year, but they won't be here next year.
-
Green and Smith are gone. Their blatant disrespect last night is terrible. Green was arguing with all the coaches every time he got taken out. Smith refused to look at or listen to any coach who tried to give him some coaching. His family has filled his head with crap that he should be scoring all of these points when he can't hit a jumper outside 5 feet. They both are so unhappy it is affecting the whole team.

They paid a known cheater a lot of money who had to leave his job because the NCAA was investigating. My Goodness are you serious with this stuff? We all get it you don't like Archie, but you are starting to sound like IUgradman -

We need Hunter in the worst way for next year. He plays harder than anyone we have, he can knock down shots and he guards all the time -

He's owed 14 million. Easy for fans to say when they're not cutting the check. Who would you get for next season? Also, remember the next guy knows he has a year an half to prove to you he can coach or he will be gone too. I wouldn't want to leave a job where I'm successful to take a job that if I can't win with another players recruits I'm going to be fired. -

We never get into our offense or a set play with the ball in his hands unless Archie screams at him from the sideline to do it. He's very selfish but also you have to have him in because he is one of the only shot makers we have on this team. -

Totally agree. The way the game is officiated in the Big Ten hurts Big Ten teams in the tourney. I have said that for the last 5 years. Something has to change. John Higgins was the only decent official last night and he is not a normal Big Ten guy. Can't believe Archie pays Bo to come in and officiate practice. That guy has not given us a good call this year.
